It's pretty rare to see REAL Seasoned Staff-Plus Engineers talking about their career, where and how they try to influence, what questions they ask themselves, how they try to flight complexity, how they embrace “messy” things
It's even rarer to see someone like @copyconstruct…

I've said this before but I'm saying it again: when you're looking at your job, you should have:
- Good pay
- Good culture
- Good growth opportunities
If you have 2/3, it's not too bad, but 0 or 1/3, you might want to question why you're still at that job.

It’s surprising to me when leaders don’t think that morale is their job. IMO, the higher in the company, the more morale and making sure people understand strategy IS the job.
I myself don’t always do this perfectly but I always know it’s my responsibility.

can someone smarter than me explain how gistRegex.test(url) resulted in "Maximum call stack size exceeded" on Chrome
const gistRegex = /^(https?:)?(\/\/)?gist\.github\.com\/([^\/]+\/)?[0-9a-f]+/
even on long strings I can't get this to happen in manual testing

That sucks. I’m sorry that happened. I’d recommend something like “I’m glad you agree with my idea” but also cultivate allies in the room to back you up and agree with you as well. What other suggestions to y’all have #womenintech?

The most common mistake I see with feature flags is having too many.
Flags are like tech debt. They’re useful, but they should typically be rare and short-term. Every flag adds variability and testing complexity.
So, I remove each flag as soon as it’s not necessary.
