Ok hear me out. Yes, things are dire right now. I agree. Even still… I truly believe that with this ruling—and so many other disturbing, dystopian sociopolitical moments in recent years—we are witnessing the last dying gasp of the white supremacist cis-heteropatriarchal regime in real time. This is their last hurrah. The world is different now, and they can’t contain positive change. Our progress is inevitable.

As I wrap up my 5th year of #primarycare practice, I can't help but reflect on the TEN "sparks" trainees may miss out on during residency that make this work so rewarding. A 🧵of #gratitude... @CLOSLER @primarycarechat @indupartha @adamcifu @gabrieldane @GIMaPreceptor 0/11

As we learn more and more about how financial forces & profit motives drive our hospitals, exploit workers, and harm patients, @sanjaykishore31 and I often wondered: who is actually in charge of our health systems? To shed light, we looked at the boards of top US hospitals. 1/x

Thank you for just saying it like it is. “The cycle is vicious: unchecked greed concentrates wealth, wealth concentrates political power, and political power blocks constraints on greed.” ja.ma/3wECzSN

• United Health will PROFIT about $22.3 billion this year. • 50% of hospitals will lose money this year. • 47% of US healthcare workers plan to leave within the next 3 years. That is the current state of US healthcare, and it should terrify everyone.

Spotify wrapped is cool and all but what I really want is an EPIC wrapped. “You spent 7823 minutes writing discharge summaries.” “Your most prescribed medication was zosyn.” “You ordered 237 unnecessary chest radiographs.”

I feel like @Ticketmaster should change it’s profile caption to “I’m the problem, it’s me.” #TaylorSwiftErasTour

“We are finding that #physicians are often doing uncompensated work. People are trying to do what matters, but if what matters isn’t being valued by the payment system, that causes moral distress. I hope future models of payment key in on this.”- @FutureDocs @Health_Affairs

Thank you to @NIH for funding my GEMSSTAR award! It's a 2 year project examining life in the years right before and after people enter nursing homes and assisted living. Thank you also to @geri_doc @AlexSmithMD @prepareforcare et al. for mentorship! reporter.nih.gov/search/Lipw…

The more surprising thing was that he was actually using the blue peanut m&m to keep track of which day he was on

In Japan, little visitors to a nursing home are making a big difference. "Baby workers," as they are called, spend time with older residents and enliven their days. "They are just so cute, and they make the whole place brighter," one woman said. nyti.ms/3R4Qxpn
