On November 1, 1864, Maryland became the first state south of the Mason-Dixon line to abolish slavery by a vote of the people. Today, we reflect on this pivotal day in our history and the bravery of those who fought to make freedom a reality. May we carry forward their courage and continue to build a more just union for all.

On November 1, 1864, Maryland took a historic step toward freedom by abolishing slavery. Today, on Maryland Emancipation Day, we honor the courage and resilience of those who fought for freedom and recognize that the work of building a more just and equitable society continues. As we reflect on how far we've come, let us recommit ourselves to a Maryland where freedom, dignity, and opportunity belong to everyone.

We’ve made valid points on disaggregation/Black immigrants. We cannot control grifters like Tariq Nasheed (FBA)—who attaches himself to whatever’s popular at any given moment. Pre ADOS, Nasheed was a popular Pan Africanist. Do you blame Pan Africanists for elevating him? Do you blame the Zimbabweans who showed up to support him & buy his mediocre documentaries when he visited their county? And the truth is that nobody elevates Tariq more than the Black immigrants who show up in spaces to debate him and the multitude of podcasts who’ve hosted him. Blame them. None of that is my responsibility.

Republicans who stay home elect Democrats! Every vote matters, and every Republican in Maryland needs to turn out and make their voice heard. Lets’ defeat Question 3, defeat Wes Moore, and elect Republicans up-and-down ballot: vote.MDGOP.org

Black immigrants are not a tiny portion of the Black population. It’s not .1%. It’s 11% and growing fast. And Bill Gates wouldn’t mask white poverty because in many government surveys, data collectors often use a technique called top-coding. So if someone makes $50 million, the public dataset might record their income simply as "$1,000,000+" or a set ceiling. And again, disaggregating is not just an ADOS thing. Asians did it successfully, as did Middle East North Africans (MENA).

Found Child The Police Department is requesting public assistance in identifying the parents or guardians of a non-verbal child, approximately one to two years of age. The child was found unattended in the 1700 block of East Pratt Street, near Angie’s Seafood, at approximately 9:50 p.m. He was wearing a Cat in the Hat costume and red sneakers. Surveillance footage indicates the child was last seen accompanied by an adult female wearing a red Thing 1 costume. Anyone with information regarding this child is asked to contact the Central District at 410-396-2411, 667-434-2221, or by calling 911.

Transportation is the conduit to our future; you cannot have economic mobility without physical mobility. In Maryland, we’ll keep closing the distance between where our people live and where opportunity lies.

I’m blown away at how late people are in understanding who Jay Z is, the role he plays & whose interests he represents. It’s maddening, honestly youtube.com/live/X-8lqOHsjB0…

The scariest thing this Halloween? The prices. From candy to groceries, Americans are paying more while corporations rake in record profits. Families are getting tricked at the checkout line, and it’s time we put an end to it.

Did you ever watch the women on Living Single make fun of each other??? Regine is normally dressed fashionable in a traditional sense, so of course they mocked her dashiki. They would’ve mocked her if she’d walked in wearing a kimono too. We are #ADOS. We roast each other over everything. That ugly tie dyed dashiki got what it deserved. And “division” wasn’t pushed by the CIA or any else. The white media constantly fed us Pan Africanism. The Color Purple, Coming to America, Black Panther, Roots—where we were spoon fed the lie that Europeans captured African slaves with nets. Kwanzaa was started by an actual Fed. All of that was used to neuter our politics and replace political action with an imaginary African homeland. African identification was repeatedly celebrated and promoted in ADOS cultural life. We were hardly deprived of messages about diaspora unity. If you ask me, Pan Africanism is likely a CIA funded operation. It gutted our politics & left us psychologically confused.
