neither katara nor aang’s side of the situation is explored because it’s not about them. it’s about bumi, kya and tenzin. katara likely would have brought up how they failed to mention all the times he spent with them trying to teach his culture. just like the fandom ignores.

listen I love the Gaang but they literally left Aang to go eat out of the garbage while they went to a meat restaurant they knowingly booked knowing he cant come (and the way they acted this clearly wasnt the first time) like... theyve got their faults esp about his culture 😭😭

Since we are doing nitpicking, gaang’s negligence of incorporating Aang’s culture in RC & not seeing his grief is what makes him suicidal & depressed & alone and they all acknowledge that. They didn’t see he was emotionally repressing himself & now doesn’t even want to live
