Happy World Wildlife Day. With continued climate action and justice , this planet stands a greater chance of continuing to provide the best habitats to the beautiful wildlife both flora and fauna. @AfiegoUg @AtuhaJoan @bibothends @theGEF @nemaug @ugwildlife
Last week, our ED @AtuhaJoan participated in a validation of findings on mitigation actions & the Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) component under Uganda’s Second Biennial Update Report (BUR2) organised by @CCD_UG . @AfiegoUg
@bibothends @GEF_SGP @GggiUganda @aifeuganda
This shows 🇺🇬Uganda's commitment to implementation of the Paris Agreement @UNFCCC and demonstrating Uganda's initiatives towards reducing greenhouse gases.
As #COP29Baku takes its last week, at @AFICAAJ our stand remains, without specific funding, without special emphasis and without focus on #climatejustice , climate action mostly in the global South is just a talk. Women, youth and children should be integral in all these efforts
As #COP29Azerbaijan starts today in the city of #Baku , we demand that focus be put on negotiating for promotion of #climateJustice. Without including the youth, women, children in this fight, all will be in vain. @AtuhaJoan @CCD_UG @GEF_SGP @theGEF @theGCF @bibothends
🌍#COP29, starts today. During the COP, govts, civil society, indigenous people & others will discuss measures to curb climate change 🌦️. A just energy transition will be discussed. But, what does the transition look like for Ugandan communities? AFIEGO asked & they answered 👇
Happy independence day to all 🇺🇬Ugandans. After 62 years, as @AFICAAJ , we desire to make Ugandans remember that our efforts towards climate action are the only lifeline we've got to build a sustainable country that will benefit present and future generations. #All_Action_Matters
Checkout today's @DailyMonitor where our ED @AtuhaJoan further stresses the dangers climate change is posing to the most vulnerable. It's upon each one of us to spread the message of climate change without tiring. @AfiegoUg @GEF_SGP @RefineryOil @aifeuganda @IUCNNL @TinaRhodah
Our Executive Director @AtuhaJoan writes in today's @newvisionwire on the severe impacts climate change is having on Ugandan farmers this year affecting food security, livelihoods,etc @AfiegoUg @bibothends @IUCNNL @aifeuganda @theGCF @GEF_SGP @CCD_UG @TinaRhodah @wiceug
Very insightful conference attended by our ED @AtuhaJoan . Clean cooking skills empower women and increase their participation in climate action thus improving climate justice.
Today, @AfiegoUg in partnership with @IGENEastAfrica organized a high level women’s conference on off-grid renewable energy majorly to equip women with clean cooking skills. Women want the government to do the same and they transition from using polluting cooking fuels
Our Executive Director @AtuhaJoan talks about the need to empower women with clean cooking skills in the @DailyMonitor . These are key in making them more resilient to climate change impacts. @IUCNNL @AfiegoUg @NapeUg @nemaug @theGCF @theGEF @aifeuganda
#SB60 meetings happening in Bonn German should discuss and ensure that as climate financing increases for both mitigation and adaptation, implementation in countries especially developing nations should promote #climatejustice @AtuhaJoan @AfiegoUg @CCD_UG @GggiUganda @UNFCCC
Today our team @AFICAAJ led by ED @AtuhaJoan in celebration of #WorldEnvironmentDay2024 carried out awareness on #GenerationalRestoration #Cleanenergy to the younger generation in 2 primary schools in Mukono district @AfiegoUg @IUCNNL @nemaug @nemaugED @GggiUganda @UNDPUganda
We @AFICAAJ wish you a happy #Worldenvironmentday . Let it be a turning point for all #generations, young and old to engage into restoration of degraded lands,wetlands,forests,peatlands, hills,river banks &lake shores. @AfiegoUg @GggiUganda @nemaug @egiuganda @IUCNNL @bibothends
As we fight for a just strategy towards climate action where both men, women, youths, children, elderly and the disabled are equally involved, we honor the just cause the Uganda 🇺🇬 #MartyrsDayUg took for their faith. @IUCNNL @bibothends @AfiegoUg @CCD_UG @AtuhaJoan @GEF_SGP
