Council Tax Reduction could be life changing but confusion around the support is rife.
Many older people have simply never been told about this support or how it could help them. More needs to be done, urgently, to raise awareness.

Tragically we know that hundreds of people take their own life on train stations across the UK, leaving bereaved families and friends, who may need support.
Therefore it is good to see that signage to crisis charities such as Samaritans has been increased on platforms, which is encouraging but so much more can be done so easily to help those struggling.
We will be working with network rail @networkrail companies this year to install our Help and Hope plaques on benches and seats to ensure anyone grieving knows there is help available wherever they live.
Seats on train platforms are an ideal location, as those waiting for a train can easily scan the QR code and immediately access help and hope when they need it most.
