I’ll chime in here regarding this whole MOP conversation and people saying it’s a QB award. I’ll start by saying this, I’m a voter and I voted for Davis Alexander for MOP. I voted for Tyson Philpot for MOC. We can all acknowledge that Quarterback is the most important position in football and probably all of sports. That’s why generally quarterbacks win these awards. With that being said, there have been 2 non QB’s to win the award since 2019, speedy B (‘19) and Brady (‘24). That right there shows that voters are willing to value other positions when it comes to the award. Much more so than the NFL’s MVP (only 3 non qbs have won since 2005). Davis Alexander was OUTSTANDING this year. 122.7 passer rating. 35TDs to 4 picks. The best record in the league. Yes Philpot had a FANTASTIC season as well! But Snead was also 2nd in the league in yards. Theis was an all star. Everybody ate in that offense. That starts with the quarterback position. We can play the "if", "ands" and "buts" game about what stats could have been had they not clinched and sat guys, but we have to play it as it lies. In order for a receiver to have an outstanding season, the quarterback also needs to be outstanding. He touches the ball every play. That was the case this year. There are people trying to discredit the award because Davis, a QB, won and talk about the name of the award negatively. I think it’s ridiculous. Instead, we should celebrate the success of both these players. Let’s talk about how amazing it is that a QB and WR, from the same team, got ALL the first place votes for the MOP! Let’s talk about how good the Canadian talent in the CFL is right now. It’s the best it’s ever been! We, as media (still weird saying that), get to decide the narrative that gets pushed. And I think it’s important for the league that we push a positive narrative that builds up our great game and its players! Finally, I think it's a great thing that the votes will be made public. That gives a greater sense of accountability for every voter to do their homework and make informed decisions, otherwise you're getting exposed. All I want is the CFL to continue to grow and be celebrated not only in Canada but also south of the border! That's harder to accomplish if we're constantly putting down our own game and league!

Thanks for the update @gregmparks
Another clarification from @theufl RE: draft eligibility: Teams only have rights to players drafted but didn’t report/cut to join NFL for two years. It’s why Adrian Martinez would be in draft pool (b4 he signed with SEA) and his rights don’t revert to BIR/RI anymore. #UFL (1/2)

👏👏👏 Congratulations to Tyson Philpot.
The numbers speak for themselves: 1,809 receiving yards, 124 receptions and 13 touchdowns. 😤 After a season for the history books, Tyson Philpot has been named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian.

As of today this is the map of the civil war leagues of American Football. The EFA teams are strong but few. The AFLE is filled with struggling financial teams, but good up and coming teams. @theleagueeurope @AFPAltFBPanel

According to Jim Monos of the #UFL on today’s “Real Football” podcast, longtime NFL backup QB Jake Browning may be coming to @TheUFL to play in 2027. He would not be eligible for the draft, though, and would have to sign as a FA. @UFLNewsHubcom
