Thinking of all the little cheetahs I’ll be seeing next week and @GlennonDoyle as I hang this on my classroom wall today. We’re doing hard things this year and we know we can!

Focusing in on SEL this year by giving students time to make personal connections with each other even in a virtual setting. I commit to positive greetings and optimistic closures every meeting. @BCPS_DSCS @BcpsMTSS #SEL

Making a commitment this year to providing “mirrors” for my students to see themselves in the music we hear and perform and centering their voices in conversations about their lived experiences. #BCPSRace @OwingsMillsES

Musical show and tell! One of Mrs. Branscome’s 3s wanted to play a song for the class and did such a great job that we asked her to play it again! Love home-to-school musical connections ❤️🎵

Hard at work in small group recorder practice in 3rd grade. We’re focusing on improving our tone by completely covering the holes and using whisper breath.

So proud of these 3s from @Jlakehurst class for their focus! Tracking AND singing note names helps us stay together and in time. The fun improvisation was just a bonus!

5s relying on each other to perform a melody as a group. Each person who had a boomwhacker or bells was an important piece of the puzzle!
