[AWA] Jackson C. Horne's Review of 10/26 Lock and Loaded
Legendary Producer and Host of 'The Horne Sounds' Pro Wrestling Podcast Jackson C. Horne Reviews the Americana Wrestling Alliance's 10/26 Lock and Load. heartlandbarandgrill.wordpre… Alright, listen here. I sat down and watched this Americana Wrestling Alliance “Lock and Loaded” hour, and for once I didn’t want to throw the remote through the goddamn television. This is a bar show. A real bar show. Fifteen hundred people packed into the American Heartland Bar and Grill, gravel lot full of pickups, neon sign buzzing, ring in the middle of the old dance floor, hand-painted banner, signs in the crowd, beer glasses clinking. That’s the environment. Not some sterile arena with pyro and LED boards and a thousand people standing around looking at their phones. This feels like a territory stop. Thunderbolt Smith and Long Haul Rick Hall on commentary, Kellie Burkowski hosting, proper ring announcers. They’re treating it like wrestling, not performance art. Opener – Women’s Television Title: Lizzie Ann Monroe (w/ Skut) vs. Ninja Kitty Four minutes and eleven seconds. Lizzie Ann, barefoot, overalls, from the hollers of Fancy Gap, Virginia, with her big brother Skut hovering like a protective barn door. Ninja Kitty is the masked speedster, ninety pounds of flippy cat energy. They didn’t turn it into a twenty-minute athletics exhibition. Lizzie Ann cut off the speed, caught her, locked in a hold, and made her tap. Clean. Decisive. New champion. The post-match interview was pure gold. Lizzie Ann talking about Big Daddy Dick Monroe teaching them in the dirt, thanking her brothers, telling her little sister Ruby Ann not to give up down in the Caribbean Underground. Skut looking like he’s about to cry while holding her up. That’s character. That’s heat and sympathy. That’s why people care. You don’t need a ten-minute entrance video package and a TikTok dance. You put a believable hillbilly girl with a protective big brother in a bar full of working people and let her win the title the right way. Cornette-approved. Tag match – Highwaymen vs. Southern Boys Three minutes and nineteen seconds, ends in a count-out. Perfect. Number two versus number three, stakes clear. Texas vs. Texas. Haley Dallas out there generating heat like she was born for it. The Highwaymen get counted out, then Kenny Brumberg runs in with a chair, Cowboy Dan Butler shows up with a bullrope, and it turns into a pier-sixer. Bodies everywhere, referee lost, security flooding the ring. That’s how you book tag teams when you actually want people to buy tickets next week. You don’t need a thirty-minute epic with eighteen false finishes and everybody kicking out of everything. You give them a short, nasty match with a dirty finish and a brawl, and you send them home wanting the payoff. Classic territory booking. I could’ve watched this in Memphis in ’85 and felt right at home. Premier Division #2 vs #3: J.J. Bittinger vs. Duke Cannon Just under six minutes. Two tough guys, old-school warriors, clear ranking implications. Bittinger wins, stays at number two. No nonsense. They’re not trying to reinvent the wheel with fifty flips and a bunch of “holy shit” chants for moves that don’t mean anything. These are men who look like they could actually hurt each other. Good. Main event – Television Title: LaBrand (c) vs. Matt Patterson (SEC) Thirteen-plus minutes. The champion against the Mississippi Mauler and the whole Sports Entertainment Corporation entourage. LaBrand survives the numbers game and retains. The invading group with the sports-entertainment gimmick tries to force their script, and the hometown (or at least the bar’s) guy overcomes it. That’s a story people understand. It’s not overbooked into oblivion. There’s a clear babyface, clear heels, a title on the line, and a finish that protects the champion while making the challengers look strong enough that the rivalry continues. Overall This is what television wrestling is supposed to look like when it’s done by people who still remember the business. Short matches with consequences. Clear rankings and title implications. Family angles that make sense. Managers and groups that generate heat. A live crowd in a real venue that reacts like human beings instead of trained seals. They’re advancing multiple divisions without turning every match into a clinic or a comedy sketch. The presentation is regional, grounded, and professional without being slick and empty. Is it perfect? Hell no. Some of the names and gimmicks are still finding their footing, and any time you’ve got groups called the SEC and Triple Bar Ranch floating around you’re walking a fine line between territory flavor and cartoon. But compared to the flippy, over-produced, zero-psychology garbage that passes for major league wrestling these days? This is a breath of fresh air. They’re trying to run a wrestling show instead of a video game tournament or a Cirque du Soleil audition. If more promotions booked with this kind of clarity and respect for the audience instead of trying to out-spot each other for the internet, the business wouldn’t be in the shape it’s in. I’d watch this again. And coming from me, that’s high praise. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need a cigarette and a drink after seeing something that didn’t make me want to quit the business all over again.

[CU] Caribbean Underground Unveils New Secondary Title
Caribbean Underground Owner Silvio Castellanos Unveils New Secondary Title: “The Pit” Championship Exclusive to After Hours | Tournament Begins Wednesday on After Hours 25 Ocean City, Barbados – Caribbean Underground owner Silvio Castellanos today announced the creation of a new secondary championship designed exclusively for the promotion’s weekly After Hours series at the Driftwood Dive Bar, known to fans as The Pit. The title, simply called The Pit Championship, will be contested only on After Hours shows. It will not appear on main Warehouse cards in Bridgetown. The belt itself reflects the room it represents: black leather, gold plating, chains, spiked metal, and a central helmeted skull rising from fire and broken rock, with matching side plates and the words “CARIBBEAN UNDERGROUND” and “THE PIT” in bold lettering.“The Warehouse has the King, the Queen, and the Tag Team titles. Those are the big stages,” Castellanos said in the announcement. “After Hours is different. It is smaller, hotter, closer, and less forgiving. The Pit needs its own prize—something that belongs to that room and the people who fill it every Wednesday. This title will live and die in Ocean City.” A tournament to crown the inaugural Pit Champion begins this Wednesday on After Hours 25, live from the Driftwood Dive Bar in Ocean City. Matches will follow the show’s established style: high-chaos, low-ceiling, and open to the full range of characters and grudges already running through After Hours. Full tournament participants and first-round pairings will be revealed closer to the show. After Hours has operated as the promotion’s midweek outlet at The Pit for the past several months, regularly drawing packed, vocal crowds for a mix of hard-hitting matches, ongoing personal feuds, and the looser atmosphere that has become the show’s signature. Current Caribbean Underground champions remain unchanged: King of the Caribbean “The American Wrestling Machine” Blake Martin, Queen of the Caribbean “The Carnival Queen” Genevieve Ines, and Tag Team Champions The Murder Hornets. Additional details on the Pit Championship tournament, including match order and any special stipulations, will be released through official Caribbean Underground channels ahead of After Hours 25. The Pit Championship belt, as unveiled by Silvio Castellanos.
