Over £1 billion real terms cuts have been made to youth services over the last 10 years. This #NationalYouthWorkWeek, @McDonaldsUK and BBC Children in Need pledged to deliver 1,000 youth work qualifications over the next 3 years, ensuring youth centres across the UK continue delivering vital support. This year, we launched 'Makin it', a nationwide initiative to better support young people and unlock genuine opportunity. The programme has already made a meaningful impact to young people’s lives by connecting over 180 McDonald’s restaurants with youth services. Spiral Skills is just one of the many projects that have benefited from Makin It' youth work qualifications. Linking with the McDonald’s Brixton Branch, Spiral Skills has since created a safe space to improve outcomes for young people in the local community.
