Today was “the return date and the hearing” - thus, there is no longer a TRO in place. This order was prepared by them and filed by Paul Newell (NYSCEF Doc No 2) - the Court then signed this order (NYSCEF doc No 10) and left this language in place as Mr. Newell drafted.👊🏾

1) Must compliment her on her class in accepting the papers; two attorneys dropped them on the floor. 2) The TRO was not lifted. I know it was in the papers your lawyers submitted, but the judge struck that part before signing.

After leaving this morning’s hearing, AM Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn is served contempt papers over the Sunday night meeting she and allies convened to elect a new leader of Brooklyn Dems despite a temporary injunction being in place. The contempt hearing is set for Oct. 19.

The rules are legal. The court did not invalidate them. The County’s ability to organize itself and set its own rules — as supported by Election Law — remains intact. The court misinterpreted the Jay Jacobs Election Law rule 🤷🏾‍♀️and who is permitted to vote on rule changes. #Appeal
