The crew interacted naturally, Nami and Robin had moments that showed their personalities, and the characters felt like actual people travelling together. And that’s what I miss. Let’s be honest, Oda has seriously underutilised Nami and Robin post-timeskip. Two characters who used to have so much personality and meaningful interactions now feel like they’re constantly being pushed into fan service, with the occasional soft spot for children. It’s crazy that a filler movie can make you miss the character writing we used to get from the actual manga. Dead End Adventure felt like One Piece. Not just a story about reaching the next island, but a crew of pirates actually living the adventure together. What happened, Oda? 🥲
