Due to the forecasted severe weather conditions associated with Hurricane Helene, all District-operated schools and offices will be closed Thursday, September 26. All extracurricular activities, after-school programs, sports, school meetings, and other on-campus events are also canceled. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. According to the National Hurricane Center and local emergency management officials, anticipated sustained winds exceed limits for safe school bus operation.   All School District employees should not report to work tomorrow unless otherwise directed by their supervisor. Normal school and District operations will resume on Friday, September 27. No make-up day will be added to the school calendar for this closure.

👋🏽💙 Hey Dad‼️ Thursday, September 19 is Florida’s “Dads Take Your Child to School Day”. This day serves to highlight and support fatherhood engagement in education by helping schools foster this important connection with fathers and father figures. This includes, but is not limited to: brothers, uncles, grandparents, stepfathers, male mentors, and other significant male role models in a child’s life. 🚌 Can’t make drop-off or pick-up? There are many ways that fathers and father figures can engage in the education of their children, including assisting with homework, regularly attending parent-teacher conferences, having an open dialogue with teachers concerning academic progress, and participating in school activities. 📌 Fathers and father figures play an important role in a child’s development and academic success. The involvement of fathers and father figures in a child’s education brings many benefits, including improved test results and academic performance, better attitudes toward school, and a decreased likelihood of behavioral concerns.
