Welcome to any new followers of my account. I am not a professional journalist. All of this is personal. I do post about US soccer and my preferred club teams as well, so if you can bare that, I hope you can continue to enjoy the World Cup content that brought you here. Thanks!
Hate to see it. An iconic brand and logo that’s been around every World Cup since I was born. We will definitely look back at the 2026 World Cup cups with fondness in 20-30 years.
Soccer sponsorship news: McDonald's won't renew its decades-old FIFA deal. CFO Ian Borden said on an earnings call that while the 2026 World Cup "provided a lift to the business ... [it] underperformed versus our expectations." (h/t @Adweek)

Great piece that reflects where cities and hotels stand after the 2026 World Cup and how that experience is shaping plans for the 2031 Women’s World Cup.
New at @SBJ: Prospective host cities for the 2031 Women’s World Cup won’t have to sign agreements with FIFA prior to the vote to award the tournament to the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica. Cities have refused to agree to the same terms as 2026. sportsbusinessjournal.com/Ar…
Following the post from @MLS last week. The success of the youth in the USMNT’s last window has given the leagues a huge platform to market through.
There are very few players Im interested in keeping an eye on from the 26WC team, but I am interested to see the new prospects.
The path to @USMNT runs through MLS NEXT Pro. 🇺🇸
Cavan Sullivan, Julian Hall, Justin Ellis, and several other alumni made a big impact during the September & October friendlies.
I think this is some of the best marketing of games I’ve seen from MLS since Messi has entered the league.
I think this reaches well to those that are interested in the USMNT, the growth and quality of the league, and the hype of promising players.
The international window may be over, but the @USMNT's newest stars play again this weekend 🇺🇸🌟
Can't pick just one match? Keep track of them all with MLS 360 starting tomorrow night at 7:30pm ET on Apple TV: soc.cr/4rZIdL9

New at @SBJ: The @NWSL is poised to continue its rapid expansion, with Commissioner @JessicaBerman1 telling Leaders Week attendees that the league is “about to open our data room for teams 19 and 20."

The last time the USMNT won 4 friendlies in a row was all the way back in COVID times. The USMNT had a 5 game win streak from November 2020 to March 2021.
Economic and political pressure from the UAE on Britain. Absolutely insane.
Exclusive with @AlexDooler @DNair5
UAE officials have warned the UK government that the severity of Man City’s punishment could undermine their appetite for future grand-scale commitments in Britain, according to people familiar with the matter
They consider the Premier League’s actions to have an influence on the bilateral state relationship, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing undisclosed information
The extraordinary pressure comes after Andy Burnham faced criticism, including from within government, for saying Man City’s Abu Dhabi owners should not be disqualified specifically because of the investment they bring to Britain

As reported in the past, and now completed, Mark McKenzie completes a move back to Philadelphia. Great pick up for the Union to help bolster their team for next season.
Personally, I think Mark was maxing his ability out in Toulouse. Very competent player at a decent French club. I don’t know if there was more for him to grow, but he could have definitely moved to quality team in Portugal, Greece, Belgium, Netherlands etc. but how can you ignore coming back home with DP money on the line? Good for him.
Mark McKenzie is 🔙!
@PhilaUnion re-sign the defender as a Designated Player starting January 1, 2027: soc.cr/4ANLa5t
I’ve mentioned this all the way back to my old Box 2 Box soccer account days before 2023, it would be incredible to move the Rapids closer to downtown Denver with all this new development being proposed.
DENVER IS TURNING THE PARKING LOTS AROUND BALL ARENA INTO AN ENTIRE CITY.
The 55-acre redevelopment could deliver:
• 6,000 homes
• 10–12M square feet of mixed-use development
• Shops, offices and hotels
• 10 acres of parks
• Up to six new pedestrian and bike bridges
The deal also keeps the Nuggets and Avalanche downtown through 2050.
This is the future of urban arenas: homes, businesses and public spaces that remain alive long after the final buzzer.
Every sea of stadium parking in America should take notes.
Halfway through the international window and the USMNT delivered exactly what fans wanted to see: wins powered by 2026 WC veterans and energetic young prospects.
🇲🇽 & 🇨🇦 will bring a different energy. Does MP continue with the same starting XI pattern or will he change it up?
Dest draws three players on a clever run. Hall pulls the LB in and lets Dest’s pass go through to Berhalter who slides it home. Excellent goal

They really are going to do it again.
Really excited to see what their senior team will do in Brazil.
