More than concerning when @ukhomeoffice issues guidance in posters and hand outs which is is wrong in law and doesn’t immediately remove it and issue a clarification

WTF. All our phones went off with the severe threat warning. Russian Invasion? Terrorist Drone strikes? Rampaging knife man? No, watch out for barbecues. People seriously alarmed….this is an absolute abuse of the system

I think people think the National care plan will save them money. It will pay only for the care component of nursing homes. Not the hoteling, food, heat, light or anything else you would get in a hotel. you might get a £100 or so knocked off the £1500 a week bill but that is it. This is a bait and switch tax raising issue.

Interesting the different language the BBC applies to describe the departure of different Ministers. Who is liked and disliked?

It is nuts that @elonmusk can increase his wealth by more than @BillGates net worth in a single trading day, and then do the same again in the first trading hour the following day. This is speculation bordering on outright gambling and little to do with reality.

With the collapse of Income tax revenues with AI an alternative could be a notional revenue tax on all assets. This would encourage the active exploitation of all assets to be productive, discouraging underuse and hoarding. Of course if you want to underuse an asset or keep it for your own occasional enjoyment then whilst you may choose to forego the revenue the state still collects. This approach would incentivise the maximised use of assets, discourage hoarding and waste, increase the availability of assets to new managers and investors and fund an income for everyone whilst also allowing the owners of capital to build their wealth. Not a wealth tax as much as a tax on unproductive assets.

Ryanair are up to their old tricks again. Turns out the in-app additional bag I bought had to be checked in. £60 quid fine at the gate for not realising this, physical card payment only or leave the bag behind, and I can have the fee I paid for the bag back but only if I write to Ryanair. Let’s see how that goes. It feels like a shake down, and it is!

Rang my GP surgery at eleven this morning to book an appointment. Offered a telephone appointment with a GP for 1pm or choice of face to face appointments with them tomorrow morning or afternoon. No triage before being offered the appointment

So called Digital ID is only to be mandatory for workers and is effectively your picture added to your NI number. It is not required for pensioners, welfare claimants, NHS users, Students, criminals, cash in hand workers/employers, money launderers or any one else. Just the legitimate working classes who pay their taxes. That is what this is about. Tax.

Lesson from Ricky Jones/Lucy Connolly cases? 1) Never plead guilty no matter what. 2) If there is a political element, whichever side is in power dictates what is going to happen when sentencing comes around 3) The outcome is proportional to the experience and skill of your Solicitor and Barrister. Neither justice nor punishment are strongly correlated with truth or fairness. It is a roll of the dice. It seems to me.

350,000 UK’ers taking charge of their weight paying privately for Mounjaro. The NHS doesn’t have to pay the increase. This is just another form of tax with the NHS 220,000 funded patients being subsidised by private patients. Is that the deal Streeting has done?

Once I got my diagnosis of CPTSD I could begin to understand who I had become and how I could manage and heal from the debilitating symptoms that comes with it with the help of therapy I desperately needed
Many traumatized people are relieved simply to learn the true name of their condition. By ascertaining the diagnosis, they can begin the process of recovery. No longer imprisoned in the wordlessness of the trauma, they discover that there is a language for their experience.

Typical Meta. I get an email allowing me opt out of a narrow part of their T&Cs in respect of AI but they are promising only to ‘honour’ my request, unless they decide not to. Time for some serious regulation protecting citizens in all jurisdictions.

Bristol Airport - No Long term parking and no prior warning on website or from carrier. Security making everyone walk up and down 5 empty queuing rows and shouted at girls ducking them rather than open the lanes. contempt for passengers. #BristolAirport
