ASC NY Statement on the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 WE WILL NEVER FORGET. As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, American Soccer Club NY joins our community, the soccer community, and the families of those we lost in remembering the lives taken on that tragic morning and the years that have followed. We are especially grateful for the work of Michael Lewis and FrontRowSoccer.com (article link below) in helping preserve the stories of the many members of the soccer community who were among those lost. His article, “We Will Never Forget: Remembering 45 ‘Soccer People’ Who Perished During the 9/11 Attacks,” is a powerful reminder that behind the numbers were coaches, players, parents, teammates, friends and neighbors who were part of the fabric of our soccer community. For me, this remembrance carries an especially personal meaning. I had the privilege of working with my former Hofstra Soccer teammate, Chris Galluzzo, and the 9/11 New York Soccer Foundation, whose efforts have helped ensure that the connection between September 11th and our soccer community is never forgotten. Soccer has always been about more than what happens on the field. It is about relationships, community, shared experiences and the bonds that remain long after the final whistle. Twenty-five years later, those bonds are still with us. On behalf of American Soccer Club NY, we honor every life lost and every family forever changed by September 11th. We will never forget. forget. — Jim Kilmeade Managing Partner & General Manager American Soccer Club NY “Twenty-five years later, it still feels new a raw. We vividly remember not only the lives lost on September 11th, but the teammates, coaches, parents and friends who were part of our extended soccer family. Working alongside my former Hofstra teammate Chris Galluzzo and the 9/11 New York Soccer Foundation has made this remembrance especially personal. Our game connects generations, communities and it is our responsibility to make sure these stories and these lives are never forgotten.” — Jim Kilmeade, Managing Partner & General Manager, American Soccer Club NY 🇺🇸💪 frontrowsoccer.substack.com/…

Some stories don’t end the way you expect them to. Luckily, this is only Chapter 2 of our story. Thank you to every Fighting Tomcat who supported us throughout the season, to our sponsors for believing in the ASC vision, to the staff that preps this team week in and week out and to every player who fought until the very final whistle. This was a season to remember, one that raised the standard of what it means to wear the Fighting Tomcats badge. History was made, expectations were elevated, and the foundation for something even greater was built. The story isn’t over. See you next season. 🐾⚽️ 🎥: @storyline.sports_
