I see that many people complain that peat-free composts are not as good as peat based ones. I have not used peat in a growing medium for over 25 years and have never had any problems at all. Some are better than others but ALL are better than using peat!

Another of our candidates is @cameron8172 for Newnham. Cameron works hard for residents, setting up a petition to stop the proposed West Fields devp, advocating for young care leavers & getting street lights fixed.

Lots of people asking us about #bumblebees at the moment - why they’re seeing them on the ground - so here’s a quick thread to explain what they’re up to. Please share as every #queen that survives means a new colony that gets to exist & produce new queen #bees for next year! 1/7

It’s #TimeToTalk day. Please reach out to someone if you could do with a mate or reach out if you think someone else could do with a mate. Take care of yourself & those around you, remember to be kind, never assume you know how someone else is, & take a little time out if you can

This is Navid. He came to the UK as a refugee, qualified in medicine, and is now a research fellow at Royal Papworth. He is on a top programme in London and still came up on both Saturday and Sunday to help run our vaccination centre this weekend. Thank you Navid 🙌🏽

REHOMING EMERGENCY! ⚠️We have 500 caged hens in Northumberland that's never seen the sunshine, tasted grass, or stood on soft ground. We really want to help them but we still have 350 lives that are depending on us. 💔 Please can you help?

An extraordinary symbol of our throwaway society. Buy a tent worth a couple of hundred pounds for the weekend. Then just leave it behind.

Saying “thank you” is a bit like smiling.
Bear with me.....
Costs nothing, takes almost no time at all, but can make a huge difference to someone else's day.
Sunday 4 July is going to be Thank You Day.

Please help struggling bees, butterflies and birds by reducing the mowing! By leaving a patch of grass in your garden to flower you'll be helping wildlife by saving effort, cost and carbon emissions. Cartoon courtesy @sepponet
