Putin schweigt lieber.

What is Goncharenko up to? The interview below gives important context to his latest statements. It might also give clues about Iuliia Mendel's "transformation". censor.net/ua/resonance/4029…
I confirm the 2023 peace-treaty plan that was leaked to the FT. What the draft envisaged: - Russia withdraws its troops from most of the four oblasts it had just declared “annexed.” - The new line of demarcation runs roughly along the line as of February 24, 2022: Crimea and the part of Donbas that Russia controlled before the full-scale invasion. - Ukraine recognizes Russian control over Crimea. - Ukraine grants Russia an unobstructed land corridor to Crimea. - The ceasefire regime is guaranteed by NATO countries that provide protection for Ukraine. - Russia begins negotiations with the US on its own security guarantees. From my side, I’ll add a few insider details that few people know about. The plan was discussed NOT ONLY by Rodnyansky: the key figure was ABRAMOVICH. Moreover, Russia was ready to give up the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant as well. And the 300 billion in frozen assets was to go toward rebuilding all of Ukraine, that is, together with the occupied territories. As for Crimea: we were not required to recognize it as Russian, only to recognize Russia’s control over it. In other words, we acknowledge that right now it is under Russian control (which is how it is). We were also required to adopt a law banning the return of Crimea by military means. The land corridor to Crimea, a highway and a railway, was to be built at Russia’s expense. The hardest question was how to guard it. That is why the Russians were ready to give up Melitopol, but not Tokmak: they feared we would cut the corridor with artillery. Zelensky rejected this proposal at the time.

Russlands Krieg gegen Deutschland. Leipzig war nur der "Startschuss"... laut WSJ.
After German authorities uncovered a sabotage operation at Leipzig Airport, a Kremlin representative contacted his counterpart in the German government. He warned that Leipzig was not Moscow's final operation. buff.ly/s0SGv6v

My friend Vlad Starodubtsev, a Ukrainian veteran and historian, was beaten up in Lviv today by a group of far-right thugs for trying to give a history lecture. According to Social Movement, a Ukrainian democratic socialist organization, about 20 of them attacked him in broad daylight, just before the talk was supposed to start at the group's office near Lviv University. The lecture was on the history of the labor and socialist movement in Galicia. This is an attack on the freedom of speech that journalists, academics and activists depend on. It's vital that attention be drawn to this issue so that authorities take appropriate action. If you are journalist reading this, please consider covering it, and following up with authorities. ❗️Nearly 46,000 foreign nationals from 151 countries signed contracts with Russia’s armed forces. This was reported by Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. It presented figures on Russian recruitment by year: ▪️2022 — 94 people ▪️2023 — 4,067 people ▪️2024 — 8,877 people ▪️2025 — 16,085 people ▪️First nine months of 2026 — 16,168 people The largest numbers of foreign recruits came from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Belarus. Meanwhile, recruitment is growing fastest in African and Latin American countries.

This is misreading what Trump is doing, which is to reverse US foreign policy and align it with Moscow. The sanctions waiver is just the beginning. He’s already framing it as part of him normalizing relations with Russia, which he sells as part of some imaginary peace process that’s been making great progress visible only to him. The next steps will be similarly justified, and Ukraine and the Europeans vilified when no peace materializes. This, as everything with Trump, is simple to understand. It will only get worse when the GOP loses the House (and maybe the entire Congress): free of electoral constraints, Trump will greatly accelerate the policies he prefers. This is only the beginning.
I don't think the US is relaxing sanctions on Russia. Here is why: 1.) The timing of the Graham Act waiver is mostly a coincidence. Trump would have had to impose new sanctions and tariffs latest on 18 October. He had to use the waiver now - and it was clear that he would use it.

Russische Deutschlandversteher treffen deutsche Russlandversteher.

Madam, as a neighbour of both Ukraine and Russia, we would be delighted to support @POTUS in peace negotiations. Please note, however, that to get to a deal pressure should be put on the aggressor and not on the victim of aggression.

Replying to @AWerberger
Symbolpolitik verpufft./2
