Don't ruin the only reason to go to mcd other than the pop
The McRib is mostly pork shoulder pressed into the shape of ribs. Lopez Foods, one of McDonald's McRib suppliers, said in 2014 that boneless pork picnic, the lower part of the shoulder, is the main ingredient. The pork is ground, shaped in a mold and frozen.
A proposed class action filed in federal court in Chicago in December 2025 says the McRib doesn't contain any pork rib meat. It alleges the patty is ground from lower-grade pork products such as pork shoulder, heart, tripe and scalded stomach. The complaint cites a food blog and a 2011 Chicago Magazine post that cited a meat scientist on restructured meat in general. McDonald's says the McRib is made with 100% pork and the patty has no hearts, tripe or scalded stomach. On Oct 30 a federal judge let the fraud, consumer deception and unjust enrichment claims go forward.
The patty is pork, water, salt, dextrose and rosemary extract. Salt pulls protein out of the ground pork and makes it sticky, and when the patty cooks that protein sets and holds the pieces together, the same way sausage does. Rosemary extract is an antioxidant, so the fat is slower to go rancid in the freezer. In 2014 the patty used BHA, propyl gallate and citric acid instead.
The sauce is water first and high fructose corn syrup second, ahead of the tomato paste. Molasses is fifth and sugar is ninth, so the sauce has 3 sweeteners. Caramel color and beet powder are added for color.
The pickles are firmed with calcium chloride and alum. The sandwich is 520 calories with 890 mg of sodium, 39% of the daily value, and 11 g of added sugar.

We are hosting Fullstack Ag office hours tomorrow, Thursday, November 5, from 9–10 a.m. Central, and you’re invited.
These sessions are normally for people who have taken one of our paid AI courses.
But tomorrow, we’re opening the doors to everybody.
Bring a question about using AI on your farm, in your business, a project you’re working on, or something you’ve tried that isn’t working the way you expected. We’ll spend the hour answering questions and working through examples together.
Jaryd Krishnan will be leading the call. He was one of the main engineers at Harvest Profit and is an expert at many things, including integrating with John Deere Operation Center!
DM me for the Zoom link.
Crazy they're taking Hagie out of Iowa
And no mention of improved quality in any of these moves??

Total disaster with a ton of software this fall. Do better Deere
Sharing is caring. If you have a @johndeere Gen 4 4600/4640 and get "An Error occurred unexpectedly" on intial startup, you'll get two options — pick STEP 2 (Deselect Data and Reboot), not Step 1. Step 2 fixes it most of the time.
If it's stuck after hitting Step 1, it's fine to hit the battery disconnect, then choose Step 2.
If you continue to have problems a factory reset under menu, system, file manager, advanced settings (arrow/dot) will usually get rid of the corrupt data. Before factory reset back up run pages/setup data to operations center or a USB in file manager.
Incremental 25.4 software 10.35.3817-72 fixes it but at this time only available via USB from your dealer. Reference solution 113561. #harvest26 @ValleyPlains @PVEQUIP @KibbleEquipment
Thanks to all those investors who subsidized the crap out of Claude.. . Opus 5.5 is so good and so efficient my $200 a year plan does way more than what I might ever need
"Anthropic Q3 revenue was a big miss - $16.8bn for the quarter vs $5.4bn implied monthly run-rate for July (which was reported in Aug), implying close to 0 growth in August and September. This has weighed heavily on sentiment, as a key pillar of the AI investment thesis is the ARR growth trajectory of frontier models. The funding stress facing Coreweave and the neocloud ecosystem are further exacerbating concerns." - Goldman Asia S&T
No matter what you think about Ai, you'd better acknowledge EVERYTHING is going to move faster
A retired NASA engineer who had worked on the Space Shuttle program for 25 years was hired by SpaceX at age 62. He described the first week as the most disorienting experience of his professional life.
At NASA, a design change required 3 meetings, 2 committees, a review board, and 6 to 18 months of documentation. At SpaceX, his new supervisor said "if it works, build it. If it doesn't, change it by Friday."
He sat at his desk after the first day and called his wife. He told her he felt like a man who had been swimming with ankle weights for 25 years and someone just cut them off. He could move. He could decide. He could build something in the morning and test it in the afternoon. The constraint that he had accepted as the nature of aerospace engineering turned out to be the nature of bureaucracy.
Within 6 months he had contributed to more design iterations than he had completed in his last 5 years at NASA. Not because he was working harder. Because the time between having an idea and testing the idea collapsed from months to hours. The same brain. The same knowledge. A different operating system.
He described a specific moment where he proposed a modification to a Raptor engine component. At NASA, the proposal would have entered a queue. At SpaceX, the modification was machined by the end of the day and tested by the following morning. He watched his idea become a physical object in 18 hours. At NASA, 18 hours would not have been enough to schedule the first meeting to discuss whether to schedule a meeting.
He told an interviewer: "I didn't get smarter when I went to SpaceX. I got faster. The intelligence was always there. The system was in the way."
The difference between SpaceX and NASA is not talent. NASA has extraordinary talent. The difference is the time between a thought and a test. SpaceX compresses it. NASA elongates it. The same engineer produces 10x more at SpaceX than at NASA because the bottleneck was never the engineer. It was the meetings about the meetings about the work.
End of an era.. I'd almost pay for a mailer or website that forces sellers to list a price with hours/miles/acres on the piece
Despite the influencers and ads promoting the subscriptions, folks are fighting back
