Old friend was recently recruited as a safety worker on data center projects, the pitch was simple: It takes three things to build shit. Time, people, and money. We're short on time and we're short on people. But we've got a hell of a lot of money.

Just another day on the internet
So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

Congrats on the launch!
We’re betting our $5.5M seed round that the next leap in AI coding won’t come from OpenAI or Anthropic. It’ll come from a new feedback loop that learns from you. Introducing Beacon: open-source, self-improving memory for coding agents. Your sessions capture how you debug and solve problems. Today, that context gets lost and you have to re-explain things every time you switch tools. Beacon continuously distills your sessions into reusable skills across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and 20+ harnesses, so your next agent can learn from the last. Beacon is free and OSS 🌟 github.com/Asymptote-Labs/ag… Why should the frontier labs be the only ones winning with your sessions? You already did the work. Now let your coding agents learn from you.

If @SBF_FTX gets a more favorable depiction than @finkd in The Social network, something has gone horribly wrong in the world
All in. Every time. Julia Garner and Anthony Boyle star as Caroline Ellison and Sam Bankman-Fried in this limited series about the love scorned prodigies behind the FTX scandal. The Altruists premieres November 19.

We have officially reached early 2000s cybersecurity, where 12 year olds like Edward Snowden earned their chops breaking into "secure" government facilities.
We're publishing our most detailed threat intelligence report to date. It covers how people tried to misuse Claude—for cyberattacks, influence operations, surveillance, biology, and building weapons—and how we found and stopped them. We disrupted every operation in the report, and used the lessons from them to strengthen our safeguards. Where appropriate, we also shared what we found with authorities and other AI companies. These cases are not typical: we’re highlighting some of the most sophisticated misuse we’ve seen. But they’re especially important to discuss, because they show us where AI misuse is headed, where our safeguards work, and where they need to improve. We’re publishing this report so others can spot the same activity on their own platforms, and so we can give the public a clearer view of how emerging threats develop. Read the report: anthropic.com/threat-intelli…

Completely unsurprising. Instinct has not solved any fundamental security issues in AI. Instead, it dials up the risk to 11. That decision is 90% of the product.
So I was using Instinct and gave it my Verizon credentials, and then I received this authentication request from Tehran. This is unbelievably concerning and ofc I deleted Instinct immediately. Can someone (or @noahrshinn) pls explain how this could happen because otherwise it seems that their servers are compromised by Iran. I messaged Instinct directly about the incident but no response. No consumers should be giving these personal agents sensitive login info.

Very curious if this results in defenders investing not just in scanning their codebases, but signaling to potential attackers that they have invested a huge amount of compute and therefore dollars. If defenders signal that they have run X hrs of Mythos / GPT 5.6 Sol and patched all vulnerabilities they found, then it signals to potential attackers that making a similar investment on the offensive side has a reduced probability of success.
Crypto financial infrastructure has been operating under extreme paranoia that 24/7 bots are trying to hack it, by virtue of it being accessible by anyone, open source, and largely immutable. Some successfully, others not. Since February, everyone serious in crypto has been running 24/7 agents against their code, either themselves or by employing 3p red teamers who are basically prompting for them with some extra tricks / known exploit databases etc (which are also public). We have been operating an internal tool for this as well, called Cyclops, you can find it doing work in our repos @tempo. The rest of the world is about to experience this, and everybody will need to introduce 24/7 agents to defend themselves. The new meta will be that there'll be a minimum $ defense token spend that you'll need to release any kind of software. Hopefully, open models will make that minimum $ cost low enough that this doesn't raise the barrier to entry to production-grade software.

It feels like a very open race. The odds @cognition outright wins or at least joins the winner's circle within the next 6-12 months is very high imo.
Went from absolutely flying using Claude Code cloud envs to an absolute crawl because the mix of inference and the cloud containers themselves are completely unreliable. As a user, it's unclear which is failing or painfully slow at a given point in time. I tried OpenAI Codex, but found it to be a cheaper frontend clone of the Claude Desktop app. Gonna try to switch all my usage to @cognition , @opencode (tried in the past and wasn't a huge fan, but will give another go), and NanoCodex from @gakonst . Looking for better, ideally open source alternatives to Claude Desktop app as well.

A few people have asked about the Anthropic Hawk and AES cryptanalysis results. The top-level answer is: It’s very impressive. Three immediate comments on the actual results, old-school thread below.

Hit Claude Max limit, so I tried out Codex today and wow. It did a fantastic job writing a script to wait until my Claude Max limit reset. Waited 1h21min and Claude picked back up right where it left off.

Overcomplicating. It's the spinner verbs hands down.
Reflecting on what engineers love about Claude Code, one thing that jumps out is its customizability: hooks, plugins, LSPs, MCPs, skills, effort, custom agents, status lines, output styles, etc. Every engineer uses their tools differently. We built Claude Code from the ground up to not just have great defaults, but to also be incredibly customizable. This is a reason why developers fall in love with the product, and why Claude Code's growth continues to accelerate. I wanted to share a few ways we're seeing people and teams customize their Claudes.

That’s been my management philosophy for the past decade.. it’s worked out pretty well I think. @boundlesshq at its heart is an idea lab. Berries - as left brain as it gets. PoVW - as right brain as it gets. Decentralized from day 1 - as deeply opinionated as it gets Connecting every L1/L2 with every ZK offering - as unbiased as it gets. We bring to bear the full might of our combined creativity.
Replying to @YourBuddyConner

After a proof-of-concept mobile app in react-native, I've had my full and decided to walk down the flutter and dart path 🤪 I just can't see how any js project can be maintained without extreme care for cleanliness; which is impossible for a noob like me. I need some limits.
