Quiet your inner critic. Zone out the noise. Reframe your mind set. You don’t have to be the savior of the world; Just be the hero of your own story. (Thanks to a friend (not on Twitter) for grounding me with her words this am.)

I’m a hospital chaplain. I see miracles every day. They’re performed by nurses and doctors. I wish every Christian realized that science is a gift from God.

Yes! We are the only developed country that lacks universal healthcare, and now 79 countries have universal healthcare—all at a lower cost than we spend today! (Money goes to care for people rather than insurance executive bonuses and corporate profits.)

Dear Christian, You don’t have to tell people what your religious beliefs are. They see exactly what your religious beliefs are in the way you talk about women, immigrants, people of color, the poor, those with disabilities, victims of war, and your political opponents.

Wow—though as a doc, the heartbreaking stats about LIVES lost abroad, and in the US (think canceled clinical trials for starters) is what keeps me awake.
Replying to @Neomelomane @amuse
@Arthroconidium @amuse DOGE's claimed $105B in savings is disputed, with estimates of $2-10B in actual savings. A nonpartisan analysis suggests these cuts cost the economy $135B in 2025 due to job losses, reduced services, and lost productivity. IRS cuts may lead to over $500B in lost tax revenue, and health research cuts could cost $16B and 68,000 jobs annually. Supporters argue waste reduction could lower the deficit and boost growth long-term, but short-term disruptions and ongoing debates highlight uncertainty about net economic benefits. grok.com

Just because you have a big heart doesn't mean you have to be an emotional battery to be used and drained by others. Unconditional love is not unconditional tolerance. Choose your boundaries over your empathy because takers have no limits and your boundaries are their limits.

When you engage with others, strive to make them feel truly seen, valued, and respected. Let them know they're appreciated, and above all, be kind. People may forget what you said or did, but they'll never forget how you made them feel. Make every interaction memorable.

Best advice I’ve heard this year. Maybe ever: We need to normalize telling the people who have made a difference in our lives how much they matter to us.

We need to support our teachers, not only for their sake, but for the sake of our kids! I love being able to play a small part in helping, knowing it will provide the specific help they need via these Amazon wish lists.
These class materials will be used for a variety of things! ✏️ Blank magnets for our whiteboard to show our schedule and small groups! Markers for anchor charts and student learning activities! Any help adding these to our class is appreciated! 🩷 ➡️ amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/W2…

Wisdom! We can learn something from almost anyone! Thinking about this has helped me be just a tad more present and curious when talking to people with whom I don’t see eye to eye.

Among the many reasons to avoid COVID, this was probably my number one concern. (The first was that getting COVID could risk the health of others I might expose before I knew I had it).
