Ruben Amorim was vilified for his lack of trust in the youth. And the media were quick to write stories about Carrick attending academy matches to wedge the knife in further.
But Shea Lacey isn’t a baby any more, he’s 19 years old and needs minutes to develop. He’s also United through and through.
He has proved himself ready every time he has stepped on the pitch, often looking more dangerous than our established first teamers.
So why isn’t Carrick brave enough to reward him with more game time? And where have the ‘trust the youth’ calls gone?
