Sad news. Fine actor and a nice man.
Very sad at the loss of the wonderful, incomparable Charles Kay. My godfather and my friend of 55 years. An actor’s actor. He made every production he was in better and every life he touched brighter. I will miss him hugely. RIP lovely man. 💔

Booked and will see you there.
Miss Mina Alix, who hooped the hoop at the Hippodrome in 1903. Despite taking over the entire auditorium her daring feat lasted only about 2 and a 1/2 seconds. Come & hear more about the @HippodromeLDN 's fascinating 125 year history next Tuesday 14th Jan eventbrite.co.uk/e/hippodrom…

John Earl was a sad loss to the Frank Matcham Society & theatre world.

💔Sad news in June 24 as we lost two dear colleagues Ruth Eastwood and John Earl ♻️On a positive note, #TheatreGreenBook launched its second edition in this month to support theatres on their journey to Net Zero

Do you own this “Garrick” souvenir Ricky? I’m jealous.
A rare intaglio of the actor #DavidGarrick, produce by #Wedgwood & #Bentley around 1775.

The show was jolly good fun. Good luck for the cast for a happy future.
The cast of TREASURE ISLAND may have set sail, but it's safe to say that they had a whale of a time⛵ Take a look backstage with Taz Rahman, who played Parrot/Nine Lives, in this video diary. We're looking forward to next winter's ALICE IN WONDERLAND🍄 Apps open on 8 Jan!

The tomb was restored and you can visit for free. Ladder one end to climb to be able to see inside. Fascinating.

Sir Richard Burton died of a heart attack in Trieste on October 20, 1890. He and his wife are buried in a tomb shaped like a bedouin tent at St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in London.

A truly great Frank Matcham venue.
🎂 Happy anniversary to @HackneyEmpire which opened #OnThisDay in 1901, designed by renowned theatre architect Frank Matcham for the Stoll Moss Group We've supported the theatre most recently through our Small Grants Programme @TheLinburyTrust for roof repairs

Great in British musical “Songbook” for which I think he won an award.

Maybe if they did not waste money redesigning the front of stage show to show, then ticket prices might be reasonable. Both “Importance” & “Ballet Shoes” have B I G sets and mucked about forestages….why? I enjoyed both but how big / vast were they!

Great man and a great number of fabulous theatres.
Born #OTD 1854 the great Frank Matcham, architect of some of the most iconic theatres & music halls in the UK. Many demolished but many remain including @Grand_Theatre @VillaGaiety @LondonColiseum His legacy is kept alive today by our friends @frankmatchamsoc 👏

Here's a quiz for lovers of curious forms of transport. Where I have I been this weekend, which involved a journey by SEA TRACTOR??

The List of Adrian Messenger (1963) After watching 90 minutes of this movie, an extra movie begins where seemingly inconsequential characters remove facial disguises to reveal some very big movie stars indeed. This final sequence is incredible. SPOILER ALERT! (OBVIOUSLY)
