Fine dining scooplet: Jeremy King is to reopen Le Caprice, the West End restaurant that closed during Covid. Part of his comeback after being ousted from the Wolseley. Also a homecoming - Le Caprice is where he and Chris Corbin started out in 1981.

Dining out solo is one of life’s great pleasures, in my opinion. It’s also a great way for a restaurant to offer the best hospitality - always look after the solo diner. To charge them double seems cynical and just not very, er, hospitable.

Unless Phillip Schofield’s ex-lover contradicts his version of events to @TheSun & BBC, then it’s time to stop this relentless persecution of a guy who’s lost everything and looks right on the edge to me. He doesn’t seem to have committed any crime, and he’s not a Govt minister.
