Orioles control owner David Rubenstein said he’s hopeful the team gets into the postseason and believes it will, as long as no more injuries occur. “I’m very optimistic going forward.” Rubenstein thinks if O’s win 7 out of every 10 games, they’ll get to October.

Would not say it’s “impossible” at all for Tigers to add, keep Skubal and dip under the tax line. They’d just need to trade some vets away (Jansen, Finnegan) and pay higher prospect cost for trade partners to pay down salary on acquisitions.

Manfred is correct that a large majority of draftees come from college, but a lot of that 70-75% is underslot lower-ceiling guys so teams can attempt to sign as many high school guys as possible without going over spending limits. Teams would probably love to sign more preps!
