Thank you Prime Minister and my dear brother @CMShehbaz, for your warm and generous hospitality, as well as the kindness and friendship you have extended to me.
I am extremely grateful for the highly productive official talks we had today. We engaged in constructive discussions that lay a solid foundation for strengthening our bilateral ties, as we celebrate 60 years of formal diplomatic relations.
We reviewed our longstanding friendship and outlined joint priorities across key sectors, including trade and investment, health and education, environment and tourism, fisheries and agriculture, youth and sports, defence and security, training and capacity-building, as well as regional and multilateral cooperation.
I am pleased that we have agreed to take the bilateral trade between our countries from USD 13 million to USD 200 million within the next 2 years. I also thank you for the invaluable donation to our five million tree planting initiative.
It is a great honour for me and my country, to have been conferred the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in Politics and International Relations by the
International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).
Today’s exchange of 20 MoUs opens a dynamic new chapter in Maldives-Pakistan relations. I look forward to taking these initiatives forward as we build a stronger, mutually beneficial partnership!

It was a pleasure to welcome my dear brother, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu @MMuizzu, to Pakistan as our two nations celebrate 60 years of fraternal ties.
At my suggestion, President Muizzu and I agreed to enhance our bilateral trade to US$200 million over the next two years, opening new avenues of shared prosperity for our peoples.
In my remarks, I expressed Pakistan's deep appreciation for the Maldives' principled support for the Palestinian people, and our close coordination within the Islamic world.
In South Asia, Pakistan remains committed to peace, stability, dialogue and regional economic cooperation.
I reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir remains an internationally recognised dispute, whose just resolution must come in line with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
I thanked my brother for his sincere commitment to deepening our partnership in trade, investment and maritime cooperation. Together, we will take this cherished friendship to new heights.

As the global security landscape grows increasingly complex, the Global Security Forum 2026 in Doha, Qatar, is taking place at a critical time, focusing on pivotal issues. It is evident that global tensions and crises are not natural—they are strategically planted and nurtured for political gain.
While the discussions at the forum are encouraging, turning them into reality depends on whether world leaders can prioritize the common good over competing personal and political interests.
