Republicans have spent the last two weeks with their hair on fire, trying to get their base out.
“We’re going to lose Texas,” they have been saying, even though most of them are transplants from Baltimore, North Dakota, and California. It’s enough to scare some of them to the polls. But will it be enough for Republicans to hold on?
Even if that no primary voter history voted 50/50, Democrat/Republican, Democrats would still gain enough seats to flip the Texas House, because turnout is concentrated in Democratic areas. The question isn’t the statewide number. It’s whether the suburban margins in Tarrant, Williamson, and Fort Bend hold through Election Day.
