Don't tilt at windmills. Don't fight straw.
Seek truth, not applause. Hold your certainty lightly; meet others generously.
I was thinking of my favorite composers. Cole Porter was the first to come to mind. Anyone else get a kick out of him?
I've been thinking about this paragraph about TV On The Radio for nearly 20 years...

Still incredible to think about what #mtgwacky came together to do then. Still moving.

Remembering the late, great Dolly, who brought joy, comfort and inspiration to so many - including the millions of children given free books through her Imagination Library. We will always ❤️ you.
I don't tend to get hit hard by celebrity death.
This hit. Prince ten years ago. Dolly today.
I just went to Paisley Park for a pilgrimage. It will be good to pay tribute to her one day as well.
We could all stand to have more of her spirit in our lives.

Something interesting you might not have realized:
A number of words in English are NOUNS when you stress the FIRST syllable...
But VERBS when you stress the SECOND syllable.
-SUSpect/susPECT
-CONflict/conFLICT
-PROtest/proTEST
-CONvert/conVERT
Came across an archive for an old Wisconsin (mostly gay) newspaper from 1998, Wisconsin Light. It was quite something seeing ads for long-gone places, political controversies of yesteryear, a business sponsor list for Milwaukee Pride that wasn't corporate bloat, and even articles featuring interviews with prominent local homophobes (firefighter Ron Greer, GB Packer Reggie White) because what they had to say was newsworthy.
What a trip, thinking back to a 21-year old me, sitting in front of Steep 'n Brew, reading that very paper, living in that very special time in Madison. God, I was so young, and looking at WI Light, it all seems so optimistic and idealistic. It was just the times we were in and I was in.
(Here's me at 22, about a year later - wild to look at!)
Seems impossible to make this "Nine cards that made me" without including a Beta Lord of the Pit (first rare I saw) or a Ali from Cairo (from the first pack I opened AND the first digital pack I opened), but these tell my story pretty well, though I'm sure I could be argued out of many of them for many others...
going viral in the japanese mtg community right now is a nine-card image generator of cards you think made or represent you (@black777cat). give it a try: soichirow.github.io/my-9-car…
