We Put the World to Sleep & Be My Cat got included by @TerrorMolins - one of Spain's biggest horror festivals - in a special lineup of acclaimed found footage films.
It's an honor!

I've shared Bucharest Horror Show's private screener with a filmmaker, a critic and a fan. Here's how they reacted! Teaser trailer: youtu.be/JhwGrP-oaLI
Other movies referenced in BHS: Kill Bill, The Blair Witch Project, @tom_six' Human Centipede.
Temporarily reactivating Twitter to say that I have a new feature film for you called Bucharest Horror Show!
It's about two American filmmakers who travel to Romania for the premiere of their new film at a horror festival which takes an unexpected turn.
Check my FB & IG for more!
I'm leaving X (Twitter) and closing my account. Join me on Instagram, Facebook, Patreon and/or YouTube to keep in touch about all our current & upcoming projects!
The reason is time and mental energy. I have a multitude of projects in production/development simultaneously and I simply can't keep up with the updates and comments on all the social platforms. I am also leaving Reddit and closing that account as well, and will keep only Instagram & Facebook for news/updates (more often), YouTube for livestreams/trailers (less often), and Patreon for exclusive private insights (once a week/month). It's the right choice. More time and mental focus on making films and playing roles. Thank you all for your support and follow here, and hope to see you on either Patreon, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or, why not, on all four, considering how platforms nowadays are making it harder and harder for people to see meaningful posts from the people they follow.

We Put the World to Sleep's 4th award win comes from @ANightOfHorror International Film Festival: Best Found Footage! At this very festival, Be My Cat: A Film for Anne won its first award for Best Film back in 2015 in Sydney, Australia (now the fest moved to the US). Thank you from both me & Duru! These recognitions are important for us indie filmmakers & actors, not for ego, but because they can help more people discover our work, and ultimately can help us make more movies and give life to more characters. Congrats to all the winners: anightofhorror.com/winning-f…
Enormous news: East Coast Premiere for We Put the World to Sleep at the Fist Look festival presented by the highly respected MoMI - Museum of the Moving Image in New York City: @MovingImageNYC
Incredible honor bestowed upon us, thank you so much to @Jesse_Berberich, Michael Koresky and everyone else at MoMI for the invitation, also to @badtechno for bringing the movie to their attention.
Check out the full lineup announced in @IndieWire - indiewire.com/news/festivals… - and get your tickets here: movingimage.org/series/first…! Duru & I hope to be able to attend and meet you all in NYC!
Wonderful times with Duru & Danha at the @UnnamedFootage Festival in San Francisco! Thank you Oksana, Russell, Evan, Terrell & the entire team at UFF for the hospitality, to all the great filmmakers, fans & press who attended We Put the World to Sleep’s West Coast premiere, and to all our supporters who made this trip possible!
We’ve also made a big announcement about our final movie in the trilogy, “Pure”, and met a potentially new team member for a critical position on the film! We’re very grateful, this is the 3rd festival that brings great new collaborations for our upcoming projects - exactly what festivals are for! 🙏❤️
Huge news: European Premiere for We Put the World to Sleep this May at @indielisboaiff in Portugal - one of Europe's most respected festivals - in the prestigious Mouth of Madness section which brings together the most anticipated new genre films from the world's top festivals!
We're incredibly honored for this selection, thank you so much to festival programmer Rui Mendes, and what a cool company we're in, which includes another Romanian movie - Radu Jude's Dracula, and another found footage feature as well - Robbie Banfitch's Tinsman Road. Past years included mega gems such as Ti West's Pearl. Full lineup: indielisboa.com/en/section/m…
This is the email we received when they announced us: "Your film was such a breath of fresh air, truly something unique that we knew we needed to select right away!" ❤🙏😊
Duru Yücel and I will be traveling to Lisbon to attend, we don't know the exact dates yet, sometime between April 30 and May 10, we'll let you know when they announce the schedule!
I didn't think we'd have to repeat this after Be My Cat, but were we go again: The characters that Duru Yücel and I play in We Put the World to Sleep are 100% fictional, we do NOT play ourselves or a version of ourselves as some early reviewers wrote, and the movie is NOT a combination of reality and fiction, it is pure fiction. We played characters who just have the same names as ours, that was a creative choice meant to enhance the illusion of realism, but we do not share any of their beliefs, goals, personality etc. Same goes for the roles of supporting actresses Andreea Enciu, Danha Yunes and Erisse Peterson.
Maybe we should feel honored that our performances and the way we did the movie made some reviewers think that some of it might be real. But we are also concerned because there's some really dark stuff in it, and us personally and as artists do not condone or support or share in any shape or form what our characters do or say in the movie. Quite the contrary actually. There's even a big disclaimer at the end of it, and anyone suggesting otherwise is way off.
It's not a documentary, it's not docu-drama nor docu-fiction, it's not a combination of reality and fiction, it's not even inspired from reality, everything is pure 100% fiction.
Later edit:
We didn't make this up, dishonesty is not our strategy and has never been, there isn't a single lie or deceitful effort to promote our films that we ever used.
There were countless comments and reactions from people who thought that there's something real about my first found footage horror movie Be My Cat: A Film for Anne, that I may be a psycho like my character, obsessed with Anne Hathaway, or abusing the actresses etc. etc. I had to explain that it's just a movie and I'm not at all like my character.
And now, to our surprise, it's beginning to happen all over again with We Put the World to Sleep, and not just comments on socials, but also actual reviews and articles.
Thank you Romania Insider for breaking the news about our second festival tour: romania-insider.com/romanian…
We Put the World to Sleep wins Best International Film at @MidWestWeird-Fest! It's the third win after Best Midnight Feature and Best Supporting Performance for Duru Yücel at @NightmaresFest. Thank you for the honor! 🙏 And congrats to all the winners: midwestweirdfest.com/2026-wi…
We are coming to San Francisco with crazy footage & projects in our hair! Myself (director/starring), lead actress/co-writer Duru Yücel & supporting actress Danha Yunes will be there for We Put the World to Sleep's West Coast Premiere at @unnamedfootage festival on Friday, March 27th, 3:55PM at the @balboatheatresf! Tickets: filmfreeway.com/UnnamedFoota…
The festival poster they did is incredible, filled with characters from this year's films, can you recognize mine? Poster artist Ilan Sheady even added a cool detail as throwback to Be My Cat! (if you've seen WPTWTS, don't reveal what my character is holding, as that would spoil it, hehe)
I will also be revealing during the festival (probably at the end of our screening at the Q&A) the news big as Mount Everest I was hinting in a previous post, so don't miss the event!
Many thanks to all our latest contributors in the crowdfunding campaign without whom this trip to San Francisco wouldn't have been possible, especially to fellow filmmakers Sam Freeman & Joe Gietl! Sam's movie "Don't Look in the Dark" is also playing in the festival on Sunday, March 29th, at 5:20PM! And of course big thanks to the entire team at UFF for the selection & support!
This is incredible, can you spot my character in We Put the World to Sleep? They even gave him a throwback to Be My Cat! (if you've already seen WPTWTS, don't explain publicly what he's holding because it would be a major spoiler for those who haven't seen it yet, haha)
#UFF9 official poster reveal!! 😱🔥😍
How many characters can you name? 👀 Come to this year's #UnnamedFootageFestival and you'll know them all!
Our full schedule is up at UnnamedFootageFestival.com
Tickets at filmfreeway.com/UnnamedFoota…

Unnamed Footage Festival @unnamedfootage in San Francisco has probably the most creative website among all festivals, it's a fully functional old Windows computer screen, you navigate the website by clicking icons, can move them around etc. unnamedfootagefestival.com
They've announced the full schedule via @FANGORIA & @DreadCentral, with We Put the World to Sleep's West Coast Premiere screening on Friday, March 27th, 4PM at the Balboa Theater!
We'd of course love to attend, but we're short of at least €700 more to fly from Romania (at least €2K total needed), most of our supporters already gave so much last year for the first festival tour, so it's understandable that this second campaign moves a bit slower. It's still not too late, we gotta give the festival an answer latest this weekend, so for anyone who can help make this happen overnight, here's the link: linktr.ee/WePutTheWorldToSle…
But we'll stay positive and grateful regardless of the outcome, we'll attend in spirit in case physically can't be done this time, the funds you donate will go towards attending other festivals this year that are closer to home, and we'll be eyeing Unnamed Footage for the upcoming editions!
And regardless of whether we can attend this year or not, if you live around San Francisco, don't miss the chance to see WPTWTS on the big screen!
