Aether Games has officially shut down.
We have been trying to keep Aether alive for as long as we could. We went all in on the card game, we tried to adapt and pivot, and we made a real effort to find a sustainable path forward. But we could not make it work.
The simple truth is that we never reached the player base we needed to survive. We kept building, kept pushing, kept trying to catch momentum, but too often we arrived late, without the scale required to turn effort into long term stability.
For many of you, the turning point was the TGE period, and that is where things started going south. We learned painful lessons about how this space really works. Too many KOL, partner, and advisory deals were made in bad faith, and they cost us heavily. If we could redo it all, we would do things differently, and we want to say this clearly:
Fair launch. No KOLs.
We cannot stress this enough. They drain liquidity, then disappear the moment you launch. At the same time, CEX agreements can shift along the way, and the end result can still be the same, a delist, and a project left bleeding.
We also tried everything on the marketing side. We worked with agency after agency, most promised the world, and when results did not come, it always became “market conditions.” Meanwhile the token kept spiraling down. Our market maker kept buying dips to support liquidity until they were fully drained, and at that point we were left without the funding we desperately needed. We tried, we fought, we lost.
And it was not just marketing. The ongoing costs of operating in this space, audits, compliance, security, listings, tooling, and endless “required” extras, continually drained funding while delivering less and less impact. In hindsight, the best route for builders is honestly a small fair public raise and a focus on DEX liquidity, not expensive promises, not middlemen, not dependency on fragile deals.
We also need to address the token reality directly. Very recently, we received notices of delisting risk from major exchanges, including KuCoin and Gate, and earlier this year, Bybit. In our current position, that means the AEG token cannot survive much longer. Without stable listings, and without the scale we needed on the gaming side, there is no sustainable path forward, and it would be irresponsible to pretend otherwise.
At one point our pivot was to support crypto games by helping them publish, start smaller, and build from there. We monitored this market for a long time, tried to understand what would actually work, and looked for real signs of success. The honest conclusion we reached is that we simply do not see sustainable success in the crypto gaming market as it exists today, not in a way that supports builders long term.
We still believe in gaming, and we still believe in crypto, but combining them, in our experience, became a recipe for disaster. It added major cost, major complexity, and it increased the attack surface in every possible way. When you do not have a massive player base, you still get the constant pressure, the constant exploits, and the constant bad actors, but you do not get the upside to justify it. We can only take so many hits before we lose stability.
And recently, we have been hit more than ever. In the past weeks we faced multiple hack attempts, and one succeeded. Some of our members were affected, and we are genuinely sorry. Watching our Discord and Telegram get bombarded daily with spam and fraudulent wallet draining links has been painful, and it is not something any community should have to deal with.
Because of that, we will be closing down the Discord. At this point it has become a magnet for scam attempts, and keeping it open puts people at risk.
Please stay cautious:
Do not click links sent through DMs, random replies, or “support” messages
Do not connect your wallet to anything you do not fully trust
If you clicked anything recently, run a full antivirus scan, review browser extensions, and consider moving funds to a fresh wallet
If you are ever unsure, ask publicly first, scammers rely on isolating people in private.
Aether Games started with a transmedia vision, building games and stories in the same franchise. We later got the opportunity to take on an existing IP worth more than we could ever imagine, and we truly believed we could turn it into something special. But despite the work, the hours, and the sacrifices, we never achieved the results needed to keep going.
We also want to acknowledge something that has been frustrating for the team. With the rise of AI, a lot of real work is being dismissed or labeled unfairly. Our team members worked day and night, the same way they have for years, putting genuine craft into what we built. Seeing that effort brushed off has been tough.
To everyone who supported us, played, tested builds, gave feedback, shared our posts, or simply believed in the idea, thank you. We are sorry we could not take Aether where we wanted it to go, and we are sorry to anyone impacted by the recent security issues. You deserved better.
We are closing this chapter with gratitude, and with real concern for your safety. Please keep your guard up, look out for each other, and do not let scammers take advantage of this moment.
With love,
Aether Games
📸 Snapshot Reminder
The Cards of Eternity: Wheel of Time snapshot will take place on August 31 at 18:00 UTC.
This snapshot will allow all players to claim their old content as equivalent content in the new game. Not all cards will remain the same, but players will receive new equivalents to ensure their progression is not lost.
Make sure your assets are linked to your Aether Games account before the snapshot to secure your claim.
⚠️ FINAL SNAPSHOT INCOMING

🎯 They will be matched to new equivalents
⏳ Cards not in your wallet at the time of the snapshot will be lost, and only available as digital collectibles but not usable ingame assets
Claim your legacy before it’s gone.
An Update on AEG and Our Vision Ahead
We have just been informed that Bybit has decided to delist the AEG/USDT trading pair from their platform. This follows an internal review based on their own risk and token criteria. While we understand this may be disappointing to some, it does not impact our long-term vision or operations.
This change comes as we are fully focused on transitioning AEG toward a stronger and more sustainable future. AEG is evolving from a traditional utility token into a real revenue-sharing model tied to the actual performance of our studio and games.
We are building something more meaningful, where AEG holders benefit directly from the success of the IPs and products we create. This transition is well underway, and more updates will follow soon.
We appreciate your continued support. The foundation we are laying now will shape something much bigger.

🔷 AEG Token: New Era
From Utility to Real Revenue Sharing
The $AEG token is entering a new phase.
What began as a utility token now evolves into something more grounded and rewarding.
Stake AEG and earn a share of Aether Games’ net revenue.
This change comes alongside the retirement of our previous title, Cards of Eternity, as we prepare for what comes next.
⸻
🌀 What’s Changing
🔹 AEG becomes a revenue-share token
Holders who stake AEG will gain access to a portion of the net revenue Aether Games receives through its growing ecosystem. The first source of this revenue will come from the upcoming remastered Wheel of Time digital trading card game.
🔹 Cards of Eternity is being retired
Due to domain changes and the transition to a new title, the Cards of Eternity server has officially been shut down. A new title and platform will be very revealed soon.
🔹 Asset migration
Players will have the option to transfer all their Cards of Eternity assets to the new title. Full migration details will be shared as part of the upcoming game reveal.
🔹 New staking platform
We are rebuilding the staking system from the ground up. It will be live on our website with a simple interface and transparent reward tracking.
🔹 Tiered rewards with lockup
The new model includes Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tiers. A 30-day lockup applies. A withdrawal fee is currently under review to encourage long-term participation.
⸻
📅 When It Starts
The new AEG staking model will go live together with the launch of the remastered Wheel of Time trading card game. The new title, Steam page, and wishlist campaign are coming soon.
⸻
📣 What This Means
AEG is no longer just a token.
It is now tied directly to the financial performance of Aether Games.
This is a long-term shift designed to reward the community and bring real value back to holding and staking.

Development for the Wheel of Time digital trading card game is right on schedule, and the build is shaping up nicely.

This is not about characters. It's about what you create, what you defend, and what survives.

Post-preseason event recap, and updates
- With the ending of our preseason event we've kept the main page slightly quieter to increase visibility and not make information on the claims and event progress hard to find
- Now that we're a good chunk of time into the ending segment of the preseason event, a list of recaps on what's been happening inside the community could come as a welcomed list:
- The Wheel of Time Series watch nights have blasted through Season 2, with the last episode having been showcased inside our community last week - today, we're officially starting Season 3, at the usually scheduled watch night happening 7pm UTC, May 21st
- Community sentiment on the series has been amazing to follow, as people have been much more excited with the way the show unfolded over the second season, and now being super excited on how season 3 is progressing
- Game nights have also shifted considerably from the pre-event ending date, as we've now allowed a more flexible game selection vertical within the community, where we allow people to select which game they'd be interested to play together each week
- Besides this, as the game is currently in downtime with the heavy updates and migrations we're pushing, the community creator program will be on standby until the game is back online as well (as there's nothing to currently organize content on)
- Soon as game comes back into play, the creator program will resume as well, however, with the segments now aimed to happen every 3 weeks, rather than 2
- And speaking of the segments:
- During the preseason-end timeframe we've also had a new community creator segment come to end, with Paky dropping a great video on what to expect coming out of the major updates we're pushing - eyes will currently be set primarily on the mobile port (hence the weight of the updates) as well as the upcoming 2v2 mode, which he teases during his video as well
- Paky's video will be posted below, along with his winner quest that can be completed to secure a batch of Influence
- More updates as game migration progress continues will be shared periodically, and expect the normal course of updates to resume starting as of now

The Great Hatching officially comes to an end
- Influence rewards have already been distributed to the winner accounts
- Boosts were offered on the basis of number of correct answers, with 1 correct answer being 50%, 2 correct answers being 150%, and 3 correct ones being 300%
- The influence rewards will be on a base of 5000, on top of which the boost gets applied; in this specific scenario, the 150% boost for participants with 2 correct answers will make it so the reward will be 12500 influence
- As for the winners with only 1 correct answer and a 50% boost, the reward will be 7500 influence
❗️- Unfortunately, no one had 3 correct answers - the prizes were planned so that if there was a specific number of people with 3 correct answers, the reward would've been 1000% boosted for EVERY participant
This model makes it so that when rewards are hidden, there will almost always be a catch:
The more people participate and score big on the event itself, the higher chances ALL participants score a jackpot
As a result, make sure to maximize participation, you never know when the jackpot events come!
