Following Uganda Airlines’ inaugural Entebbe–Accra service via #Lagos on 27 October, Ms. @CEGEofficiel, Director of Private Sector Engagement and Communications, represented H.E. @MeneWamkele, Secretary-General of the #AfCFTA Secretariat, at the #Uganda–#Ghana Business Forum in #Accra on 28 October.
The Forum brought together Ugandan ministers, public institutions and business and tourism leaders, alongside Ghanaian counterparts.
She urged both countries to turn improved air connectivity into measurable trade opportunities and proposed exploring a joint business engagement and market access programme to connect African businesses with buyers, partners and new markets.

🇶🇦 On the margins of #WIF2026 in #Doha, the AfCFTA Secretariat met with @WAIPAorg’s CEO and Executive Director, Mr @ErsahinIsmail , and Deputy Executive Director, Mr Dushyant Thakor.
Building on the institutions’ MoU, discussions covered the upcoming World Investment Conference and collaboration to advance the #AfCFTA Protocol on Investment, strengthen project preparation and investment pipelines, and build the capacity of Investment Promotion Agencies and National Focal Points.
The shared goal: mobilising more quality investment across Africa.

En marge du #WIF2026, S.E.M. Wamkele Mene a rencontré le Très Honorable Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane, Premier ministre du Lesotho.
Ils ont parlé de la manière d’utiliser le marché de la #ZLECAf, environ 1,4 milliard de personnes et près de 3 400 milliards de dollars américains de PIB cumulé, pour soutenir ce secteur, relier les producteurs aux acheteurs africains, maintenir travailleurs et entreprises en activité, et mobiliser des investissements dans la production africaine de fils et de tissus.

🇱🇸 Lesotho’s garment sector, the country’s largest private-sector employer, was on the table in Doha: access to the AfCFTA market.
On the margins of #WIF2026, H.E. Wamkele Mene met the Right Honourable Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane, Prime Minister of Lesotho.
They discussed using the #AfCFTA market, about 1.4 billion people and approximately US$3.4 trillion in combined GDP, to support the sector, connect producers to African buyers, retain workers and firms, and mobilise investment in African yarn and fabric production.

Il a appelé à transformer les minerais critiques en Afrique, à bâtir des chaînes de valeur régionales et à confier l’investissement aux institutions africaines de financement du développement, en complément des partenaires internationaux.
Il a aussi demandé des flux de capitaux transfrontaliers facilités et des mesures sur la prime de risque de l’Afrique.

He called for African processing of critical minerals, regional value chains, and African development finance institutions to lead investment, complemented by international partners.
He also urged easier cross-border capital flows and measures to address Africa’s high risk premium.
