I forgot how much I love the female DC tech community. Thanks @DCFemTech for an awesome after work party #dcftinspire #dctech
Well, I held on as long as I could but it's time for me to go. Y'all can find me all over the interwebs with the same handle, I just joined 🟦☁️. See ya later!
Our basement was destroyed by the Chicago floods this weekend. We lost a ton of memories, property, and essential appliances but the biggest loss is all of the equipment my wife needs to do their job. If you are able to help with a donation or a RT we greatly appreciate it ☮️❤️
My audio post-production company @HemCreekProd is my pride and joy. This past weekend, a flash flood swept through its base of operations and destroyed most of its audio equipment. Help with repairs is appreciated, whether with a donation or a retweet. Link to Go Fund Me is below

Currently down on the first day of fantasy WNBA but I don't really care because my @WashMystics won!
Y'all. The soundscapes, character development, and overwhelming sense of unease make this episode shine. I know I'm biased but this show is so good 😍
Liars & Leeches, Episode 2- "The Way Things Used To Be" is available now. Links to listen are in the replies.
Liars & Leeches is a supernatural horror audio drama created by @HemCreekProd that explores grief, terror, and the overwhelming power of both.

Good managers hire to round out their team, and add new points of view.
There is a difference between "10 years of experience" and "1 year of experience repeated ten times." A candidate with diverse job history is someone who has had to invent & reinvent their own playbook.
THIS. I'm lucky that I really love team building as part of my responsibilities. But I do feel like I have to constantly push my colleagues who aren't socialized as women to do the same, or similar, efforts. It's a constant battle that can be frustrating.

I don't feel like I have a lot of strong opinions in the industry. But estimation/pointing? It is easily my most loathsome activity as an engineer and leader. I am lucky that my team doesn't use them.
You know the vibes are immaculate when the convo in the women's bathroom at the bar is about quality kielbasa 😂
Do I like working the week between Christmas and New Years? Not particularly. However, this has been some of the most productive days I've had in weeks. I've written two new features, team documentation, a tech spec, and investigated a support queue issue. Wild!

It's stunning to me the number of devs who think AI will replace devs because AI can generate some code.
Think about the % of your time you spend *writing code* vs everything else that goes into being a developer & being on a team.

It is a grave category error to confuse today’s large language model output for accurate knowledge
The extent ChatGPT is ever correct is due to you already knowing the answer. It hallucinates nonsense just as easily as commonly-accepted fact, making it worthless as an educator
Color me not surprised y'all 😂 Also, I'm an adventurous listener? I thought I kept it pretty consistent, but I do gravitate towards new artists/playlists.
TUCK FOLEDO!!! So proud of my guys absolutely battling all game. Once a falcon always a falcon! #ayziggy
