Georgia farmers deserve a fair and competitive marketplace.
We must continue holding big corporations accountable when they squeeze our farm families and consumers, and we have to address the high levels of market concentration that put producers at a disadvantage.

The loss of one family farm is one too many.
That’s why I created the Georgia Farmland Conservation Fund and why I am constantly encouraging consumers to buy @GeorgiaGrown and support our farm families every chance they can.

Harvest season is underway, and that means more tractors, combines, and other farm equipment traveling Georgia’s roads.
I know firsthand how dangerous those situations can become. Slow down, stay alert, and give our farmers the space they need to get home safely.
A few extra minutes of patience can prevent a tragedy.

This morning, @AgCommHarperGA was joined by Allen Poole, Director of @gohsgeorgia; Taylor Arnold, Executive Director of the @gapeanuts; and Billy Hancock, @CrispCoSheriff, to spotlight an important message: share the road and help keep our farmers safe!
The Yield Behind the Wheel campaign reminds drivers to use extra caution around farm equipment, especially during harvest season.
A little patience behind the wheel can make a big difference. Slow down, give farm equipment plenty of space, and help everyone get home safely!

This morning, most producers who applied for relief for damage to agricultural commodities and/or infrastructure through the Georgia Hurricane Helene Block Grant received their award notifications and contracts via email.
Timber applications are more complex and are still under review at this time.
If you submitted a timber only application, it is still being reviewed.
If you submitted a mixed agriculture and timber application, the award notification and contract you received this morning is for the agriculture portion of your application only. The timber portion of your application is still under review, and you will receive another notification and contract once the review has been completed.
Today, we celebrate the hardworking farmers who help feed our families, fuel our economy, and keep Georgia growing! From our famous Georgia peaches and peanuts to cotton, pecans, poultry, and so much more, agriculture is at the heart of our state.
Happy National Farmers Day!
