Turning reform ambitions into lasting results takes more than good ideas. It requires a clear understanding of the challenges reformers face, practical approaches to overcoming them and the ability to sustain change beyond individuals and political cycles.
Developed to
support this journey, the Public Sector Reform Playbook brings together documented, tested steps and practical guidance to help reformers navigate institutional complexities, build coalitions, manage resistance and translate reform ideas into meaningful results for citizens.
Join us on 19 November 2026 for the launch of the Playbook as we explore why reforms fail, what reformers can do differently and how to move from reform promises to lasting results.

Recently, our Chairman, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CFR, was recognised among Nigeria’s leading thought leaders in the inaugural 2026 GREY Capital Index, published by Podhium, ranking top 10 among 500 leaders across 25 sectors.
He was also named one of just 10 Apex Architects, the
index’s highest category, which recognises the depth, originality, reach and influence of ideas. His inclusion speaks to the role of ideas in shaping conversations, influencing decisions and advancing institutional development. Through his work in finance, philanthropy,
leadership development and public-sector reform, he continues to contribute to efforts to build stronger institutions and deliver lasting change in Nigeria.

Last week, we joined the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) at its 2026 Board Retreat, themed “Towards a New Era of Wage Governance: Vision, Strategy and Institutional Renewal”.
Our Director of Programmes, Chioma Njoku, presented a paper on behalf of our
wage and productivity data, preparing early and transparently for the 2027 national minimum wage review, and improving visibility into how minimum wage decisions are implemented across states and sectors.
These proposals reflect an important principle of public sector reform:
sound policy must be matched by the institutional capacity to deliver it.

As part of our commitment to developing effective leaders, we recently held a media training focused on strengthening participants’ communication skills, thought leadership and executive presence. The training explored how leaders can position their expertise, build a distinctive
public profile and engage strategically with the media.
The emphasis during the training was on more than being visible. It was on communicating with purpose, ensuring that leaders can articulate their ideas, contribute to important conversations and build a public profile
that reflects their expertise and the value of their work.

For public servants, developing the right skills can make the difference between simply managing responsibilities and leading meaningful change.
Through our capacity-building initiatives, we equip public servants with the knowledge, skills and networks to lead more effectively.

Through our leadership development programmes, we equip public servants with the skills, knowledge and networks to lead institutions more effectively and deliver better outcomes for citizens. When public institutions are better led, citizens are better served.
Identifying the barriers to reform is only the beginning. The real work lies in finding ways to overcome them.
At our Unblocking Reform: From Design to Delivery convening, our guests took part in the Reform Solutions Lab: From Barriers to Action, a working session focused on
finding practical ways to address the challenges of reform.
Through collaborative discussions, participants explored the obstacles that slow progress, considered possible solutions and identified actions that could help move reform from intention to delivery.
The session reinforced an important message: turning reform plans into results requires more than understanding the challenges. It takes collaboration, practical solutions and a commitment to action.

Good ideas may start a reform, but they do not move it forward on their own. Reform requires the right people at the table, a shared understanding of what needs to change and the relationships needed to make it happen.
During the convening, our panel session themed Advancing
Reform: Building Buy-In and Coalitions explored the realities of bringing stakeholders together and building the partnerships needed to move reform from ambition to implementation.
The discussion explored what it takes to build consensus, navigate competing interests and
sustain momentum for change, reinforcing an important lesson: lasting reform depends not only on having a clear vision for change, but on the ability to bring people together who will carry that vision forward.
