How a notorious Islamist group operating in the DR Congo is aligned with Rwanda's front organisation in eastern Congo - the M23. Shocking for those powers that continue to give Rwanda's President, Paul Kagame, such ample support

People around the world are protesting the new iPhone, calling it “blood tech.”
Activists are calling for a boycott, accusing the tech giant of using rare minerals mined from the Democratic Republic of Congo and connected with child labor and human rights abuses.
Kagamé is a creation of the West. He continues to enjoy the support of France, the European Union, and influential figures within the American establishment. This backing has enabled him to kill and plunder for more than 30 years with impunity.
Now, mentioning Lumumba and Kagame in the same breath is an insult to the legacy of a true revolutionary. Trying to portray Kagamé as a revolutionary is utterly nonsensical. If he were truly one, he would have refused to serve as a puppet of foreign interests, facilitating the killing of Congolese people and the looting of the DRC’s mineral wealth.
Lumumba stood against foreign domination and exploitation. Kagame, by contrast, has served the very interests Lumumba fought to liberate Africa from.
Mr @statedeptspox . Since 2022, february 25, #OFAC sanctionned Mr Poutine.Where are we, four years later ?
First, your claim that more than one million Tutsis were killed is not an uncontested historical figure. The 1994 genocide in Rwanda is an established historical fact, but the precise number of Tutsi victims must not be confused with estimates of the total number of people killed comprised of Hutu and twa.
Second, the genocide took place in Rwanda, primarily perpetrated by Rwandans against fellow Rwandans. The FDLR is a Rwandan armed group. Why should millions of Congolese civilians be made to pay for crimes committed by Rwandans against Rwandans?
You invoke Rwanda’s security concerns, but even if we accept your argument about an attack that killed 18 people, how could that possibly justify decades of military intervention, occupation, killings and exploitation of Congolese resources?
By your own logic, considering the atrocities documented against Rwandan forces in the DRC, Congo would have grounds to wage war against Rwanda indefinitely. No country’s security concerns confer the right to collectively punish another nation’s population.
Read the UN Mapping Report. Read the reports of the UN Group of Experts. The suffering of Congolese civilians is neither hypothetical nor a footnote to Rwanda’s history. Congolese Tutsi are not Kagamé’s property to use them each time as a reason to invade in kill Congolese. Rwanda’s tragedy cannot become a permanent justification for Congo’s suffering.

“Fear of an attack in a dark alley”? Really? What a shameless and hypocritical woman.
The founders of the FDLR, whose elements are embedded within the FARDC, were responsible for the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, in which more than one million Tutsi were murdered. Congolese Tutsi have also suffered mass killings, while the FDLR continues to pose a serious threat to their survival in eastern DRC.
The FDLR is an existential security threat to Rwanda. Why are you so afraid to denounce this genocidal militia and its ideology? Why is it easier to talk about hypothetical threats than to confront a real and documented security concern?
These Rwandan commentators are either willfully blind or utterly heartless. If you want to talk about documented atrocities, go and read the UN Mapping Report and the numerous other UN reports that clearly document the involvement of the Rwandan Defence Forces (RDF) in killings and looting in the DRC.
That is what minister @kayikwambaT is talking about, not some fabricated narrative about the killing of Tutsis and the supposed displacement in Kinshasa.
Replying to @kayikwambaT
If Congolese lives suddenly matter to you, explain why Congolese Tutsi have been driven into exile for 27 years. And if you insist on blaming Rwanda for the DRC’s problems, explain the displacement in Kinshasa, Tanganyika, Kwilu, Kwango, Ituri, Mai-Ndombe, Tshopo and Maniema. How, exactly, is Rwanda responsible for that?
How is Rwanda responsible for killings in a country hosting 256 armed groups? Are Ebola, cholera, other diseases and extreme hunger, which claim Congolese lives, also Rwanda’s fault? And what about documented killings committed by the FARDC? Do those get blamed on Rwanda too?
Rwanda must not be held responsible for the DRC’s worsening, and chaotic governance. Clean up your own mess please.
@TiborPNagyJr
Rwanda has troops operating on Congolese soil, while Tshisekedi’s alleged proxies are not operating inside Rwanda. Rwanda has been involved in killings and atrocities in the DRC since the late 1990s, long before Tshisekedi came to power. Kagame, however, was already in power.
You can lobby as much as you want, but please stop spreading lies and distorting the facts. The Washington Accords require the Rwandan Defence Force (RDF) to withdraw from the DRC and Rwanda to stop supporting the M23 rebellion, commitments that Kagame appears unwilling to honour.
As for the so-called FDLR issue, the Congolese government has already addressed it, and an agreement was signed to facilitate the repatriation of FDLR members to Rwanda. But since Kagame continues to use the FDLR as a pretext to justify Rwanda’s military presence and the exploitation of eastern Congo’s resources, he has little interest in seeing this issue resolved.
This narrative conveniently serves the interests of those you are lobbying for, while ignoring the suffering of millions of Congolese. Thank God President Trump understands the situation and will not be misled by people like you.
If the US wants to be objective in helping end the long running Rwanda/DRC face-off in Eastern Congo, then sanctioning only one side will not help. The Tshisekedi Govt has its own proxies that threaten Rwanda, so why not sanction all the troublemakers?

Why is Thabo Mbeki so quiet about this? Does he only hold press conferences when he is paid by Mo Ibrahim to speak about the Banyamulenge and express support for Kagame?
