Nobody cares what your dad wants, thinks or would have done. Your father is one man, and your partner is a completely different man with his own mind, values and way of doing things. Stop bringing “my dad said” into every conversation as though your man is supposed to compete with your father. Love your dad all you want, but your partner is not obligated to become him.
