Messi will not congratulate him. Deal with it.
If Lionel Messi refuses to congratulate Cristiano Ronaldo on his international retirement, it will expose the hypocrisy surrounding his supposedly humble and honourable character. These two men have shared football's biggest stage for years. If Ronaldo did the same, Messi fans would call him arrogant. Now they're excusing Messi by bringing up comments Ronaldo allegedly made about him and his family. Why can't Messi simply be the bigger person? He found time to post an Instagram story about the late Jesus, so what's stopping him from acknowledging Ronaldo? The double standards are ridiculous.

BREAKING: Iran takes credit for Trump's midterm defeat, saying Tehran handed him "a strategic defeat on the battlefield and in the Strait of Hormuz, and a political defeat in Washington." "Americans got stuck with the bill for his war. Anyone who takes on Iran will pay the price, from the battlefield to their own doorstep," SNSC chief Rezaei says. Iran says Trump was "defeated in both war and politics" and that it "will certainly inflict further defeats on him." An adviser to the Supreme Leader, added Iran was the real winner and had "transferred the cost of the war into the United States." It comes as the US military has prepared plans to resume major combat operations as early as today.

No one takes a fan voted award serious by the way.
While Cristiano Ronaldo was being crowned the greatest Ballon d’Or season ever, Lionel Messi was dropping a stinker in Inter Miami’s 2–2 draw with Cincinnati. The contrast is crazy. One is being celebrated for an all-time great peak, while the other couldn’t make the difference on the pitch.

Within the next 48 hours, if flour is not allowed into Gaza, all bakeries in the city will stop producing bread. We are facing an enormous catastrophe. Famine is knocking on our doors once again, and this time, it could be worse than anything we have experienced before. Please, do not remain silent! Talk about Gaza, make our voices heard around the world, and do everything you can before thousands of people lose access to something as basic as a loaf of bread.

The average American can't name 2 cities in Iran, but here we go again with the drums of war. Gas up 34% in a year. Inflation back. Housing out of reach. Yet Washington finds billions for war abroad. Americans are fed up, and they know who's pushing this country into war.

BREAKING: Iranian lawmakers say Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei's position on nuclear weapons will differ from his late father's and that Iran must now acquire nuclear weapons. "The nuclear doctrine must change," Iranian MP Naderi says, adding that the discussion of nuclear deterrence has become more serious and has now reached the level of Friday prayer imams (top state clerics). "Our response so far in terms of revenge has not been sufficient. A response will be sufficient when we achieve definitive deterrence, which will happen, we are in this process," he adds.

Alas, poverty and ignorance have driven the North into the depths of her sorrowful decline. Today, it is mere entertainers (mawaka) and film stars who stand as her representatives. How far, and how tragically, have we fallen.

Today, that prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes. What makes this betrayal collective is that no prominent southern voice of consequence has risen to defend El-Rufai. The governors from the South, the Yoruba elders, the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC)—they have all maintained a calculated silence. Some have even gone further, actively painting El-Rufai as a corrupt politician who deserves his fate. This is the reward for the man who, as MURIC put it, "gave southerners the presidency" . This is the gratitude of a region that received power on a silver platter from the North and responded by locking the platter’s carrier in a detention cell. The northern politicians who remain in Tinubu’s cabinet are not blind to this betrayal. They see it. They feel it. But they are trapped. They are not loyal allies; they are servants of the crown, functionaries who understand that speaking out would cost them their positions. They watched El-Rufai be sacrificed, and they know they could be next. Those standing on the mandate of Tinubu today are not partners in a national project. They are prisoners of a regional arrangement that has shown its true colors. As the philosopher George Santayana famously warned, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." The North remembers. And the North will not repeat its mistake. Let us speak plainly about the numbers. Between 1999 and 2023, the South occupied the presidency for 14 years (Obasanjo 8 years, Jonathan 6 years) while the North occupied it for only 8 years (Yar‘Adua 3 years, Buhari 8 years minus Yar‘Adua’s 3). If Tinubu serves his full first term until 2027, the South would have held Aso Rock for 17 years against the North’s 11 years. If Tinubu wins re-election and serves until 2031, those numbers become 21 years for the South versus 11 for the North. This is not power sharing. This is power hoarding. And yet southern voices have the audacity to call northerners who question this arrangement "traitors" . The philosopher Edmund Burke once observed, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." The good men of the North, the ones who followed El-Rufai’s lead in 2022, have learned a bitter lesson. Their sacrifice was met with silence. Their champion was met with detention. Their loyalty was met with betrayal. It will take a very long time for the South-West to secure another genuine alliance with the North. Trust, once broken, cannot be repaired with appeals to zoning. It can only be restored with justice, reciprocity, and the release of Nasir El-Rufai from the clutches of a persecution that has shamed the very concept of Nigerian federalism. Until then, the North watches, the North remembers, and the North will not trust zoning to the South in 2027. Mohammed Bello Doka can be reached via [email protected] Abuja Network News

Projects in Lagos, Campaign in Kaduna Amid Insecurity: What Will Tinubu Promise Now? By Mohammed Bello Doka 11 October, 2026. On December 3, 2023, a Nigerian Army drone struck Tudun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing at least 85 civilians who had gathered for a religious celebration. Among the dead were women, children, and the elderly. President Bola Tinubu did not visit. On September 2024, another military airstrike hit Giwa Local Government Area, killing at least 24 more civilians in what the military called a mistaken targeting of bandits. President Tinubu did not visit. In September 2025, bandits descended on Kachia Local Government Area and abducted 152 people in a single operation. President Tinubu did not visit. In July 2025, windstorms and heavy rainfall devastated five local government areas, displacing 6,172 people and killing six. President Tinubu did not visit. In August 2024, bandits attacked communities in Kajuru Local Government Area, killing four, injuring three, and abducting thirty-seven. President Tinubu did not visit. In September 2025, floods submerged parts of Zaria Local Government Area, affecting 476 people. President Tinubu did not visit. Now, after three and a half years of blood, tears, and silence, the APC has chosen Kaduna as the launchpad for its 2027 presidential campaign. The same Kaduna where 85 people were buried in a mass grave after a Nigerian drone bombed them. The same Kaduna where 152 people were carted away into forests by bandits while the president was in Lagos commissioning buses. The same Kaduna where communities have been orphaned by airstrikes, emptied by kidnappings, and drowned by floods. What exactly is Tinubu coming to tell the people of Kaduna? What is he coming to promise again? Since May 29, 2023, President Tinubu has visited Kaduna exactly twice. The first was a one-day working visit in June 2025 to commission a vocational training institute, a 300-bed specialist hospital, and 100 CNG buses, most of which were state government projects. The second was a private visit in September 2025 to attend a wedding and condole with the widow of a former president. Two visits in three and a half years. Not one of those visits was to console the victims of Tudun Biri. Not one was to visit the families of the 152 abducted in Kachia. Not one was to assess the damage in Giwa after another military misfire. Not one was to stand with the flood victims in Zaria. Not one was to confront the bandits in Kajuru. Instead, he flew to Kaduna for a wedding, shook hands, took photographs, and flew back to Abuja. Compare that to his attention to Lagos. In Lagos, Tinubu has commissioned the first 30 kilometres of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, a project estimated at over one trillion naira. In Lagos, he has rehabilitated the Third Mainland Bridge at a cost of 43 billion naira and built a 2.5 billion naira CCTV monitoring centre. In Lagos, he inaugurated the Red Line Rail, a 37-kilometre project costing over 135 million dollars. In Lagos, he commissioned CNG infrastructure in Ojota, part of a 100 billion naira national rollout, with four major projects in a single day. In Lagos, the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road, a project inherited from Buhari, was revoked and re-awarded at a higher cost, while the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway received 43 billion naira for phase two. Lagos is where the president's heart beats. Kaduna is where his promises go to die.

This is the hell on earth they call a “ceasefire”. Every single day, new bombings and new deaths, just a slower genocide. Imagine our news cycle if this was an Israeli child. May God comfort these children, and punish their oppressors. Ameen

This is what happens when arrogance meets profound ignorance. Islam does not teach that passing wind disconnects you from God. That is a lazy and childish argument. In Islam, passing wind is not a sin. It is a normal human biological function. It breaks a temporary state of physical readiness called Wudu. Wudu is a specific preparation required for one highly formal act of worship, which is the daily prayer known as Salah.  For those of us that have sense and it’s still working, imagine you are invited to a formal meeting with a head of state. There is a strict protocol for how you present yourself. You do not walk into a royal court lacking basic physical discipline. God is the King of Kings. The Salah is a formal, scheduled audience with Him. Breaking wind violates the physical protocol of that specific meeting. It means you must step away, wash up, restore your focus, and then return to the prayer mat. It does not mean your connection to God is cut off. A Muslim can remember God, make personal prayers, seek forgiveness, and speak to the Creator at any moment of the day, whether they have Wudu or not. Even falling asleep breaks Wudu. Does that mean a sleeping person is disconnected from God? To make this even clearer, a woman who is menstruating is exempted from the formal Salah for days, yet she is never disconnected from God. She can supplicate, remember God, and talk to Him freely at any time. The spiritual bond remains intact. You are rejecting a religion based on a cartoonish misunderstanding of it. You thought you were making a profound point, but you only revealed that your logic cannot tell the difference between formal ritual discipline and a spiritual relationship.  Common sense is indeed not common anymore. May the Almighty guide you. Allah knows best.
I will never believe in a religion that thinks farting will disconnect you from God.

Since you are so hellbent on tarnishing the image of my faith,I will not rest too. If I may ask: Where is the video man? Anyone with clear vision can see this video is likely a staged act. But even though this is fake, we must talk. I will not let you use a scripted clip to push a dangerous narrative and misguide millions of people. Let me educate you on what Islam truly stands for. Muslims do not endorse this nonsense. In Islamic jurisprudence, if a person slumps, drowns, or faces a life-threatening emergency, breaking your prayer to save them is a strict obligation. It is never an option. It is forbidden to continue praying. You must break the prayer instantly and offer help. A Muslim can repeat a prayer later, but we can never bring back a lost human life. Islam is built on preserving life. The Quran makes it clear that saving a single soul is like saving all of humanity. So if this was a real scenario and the man understood his religion, he would have dropped his prayer the second the man fell on the floor. And if he held on to his prayers, then the prayer is even against him than a reward for him. Stop using staged videos and ignorant actions to define a faith you know nothing about. Human life is placed far above the completion of any prayer. Allah knows best.
These two men were praying inside a mosque when one of them suddenly slumped. But instead of rushing to help him, the other man continued praying until the man passed away. 😢
