Looking through old projects... Some time ago, I was working on a project that was 1st person. Typical issue: weapons penetrating into walls when close. In a deferred pipeline, everything is rendered from one camera, so classic multiple camera and multi FOV tricks are problematic. Clever line trace and IK systems to animate arms and weapons out of the way were off the table. I am sure that I am by far not the first to think of this, but my solution was to flatten the character along the camera's forward vector in a shader. Here it is viewed from 3rd person so you can see how it works. Fun. #gamedev #unrealengine

Been watching a lot of old fight movies lately. Last night's choice was Hard Times, (1975) I had heard this film inspired a couple of the Street Fighter 2 levels, but this was neat to see first hand. Trivia: Hard Times was released in Japan under the name "The Street Fighter."

We are currently living through the greatest era of gamedev since the advent of gamedev itself.

Incredibly disappointing news.
I got a takedown notice from Capcom IP / Legal today. No more Street Fighter 6 on UFD / ultimateframedata. Not my choice, sorry everyone :\

The hotspot tool can reason about each individual rect, so it's pretty easy to create interesting effects like this, where I know where each corner is.

Disappoined to hear official support for the #Atari_VCS is coming to an end. I always thought it was a neat little machine. Looked beautiful too! I wish would have had more time to tinker with it.

New Street Fighter movie was great! They should have made a game based on the new film. I know a guy… ;) instagram.com/p/DenIQCdgUan/…

True story.
Every AAA gamedev I know is making their own dream game with AI. They broke open their archive of game ideas they've been dreaming about since forever and are having the time of their lives. They've told me "I've never enjoyed gamedev more than now."

Something I've always wanted: gameplay rewind. It can record gameplay, pause, rewind, fast forward and best of all: resume from any point in the recording

Are driving games once again going to be the standard for visual benchmark? Incredible.

The only thing that has ever mattered, is what’s on screen.

Amazing things are happening.
Now that I've got multiplayer support I thought I'd recap all the work that went into this engine. Roughly 6 months of work ( with the later LLM models im sure this could be done faster )

Here's the first project I'm about to release using my own little engine. It's a desktop companion that runs transparently on your desktop. Please wishlist :)
