Yesterday a couple who had been together for OVER SIXTY YEARS was in group and the husband was asleep most of it and then the MT sang him and his wife’s song and he was immediately awake and sang the entire thing w her. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I asked my clinical supervisor yesterday if it’s normal to need to clock out of listening to/playing music you did not choose and she was like “Oh for SURE” and I feel better now. I am only engaging with broadway tunes if I am being paid to do so.
I have concluded that I need to buy a 3/4 guitar for school/future practice and I know guitar shopping is probably a lot of people’s idea of an amazing time, what the heart really wants is a Yamaha baby grand like I grew up playing in church
Have to do another creative reflection for school…how much poetry about Isaiah 53 do we think is too much??
After attuning to old people all day I am lowkey catatonic rn and I have ten students tomorrow. I can do anything great. 😭😂
Guys. I gotta say. I know it has been one day but I am worried that I will never love music therapy as much as I love teaching. My students are everything to me.
I will say the struggle of day 1 of practicum is that I was not allowed to just have a hymn sing with the old people which I know for a fact they would’ve loved
Can’t say I was expecting to a bell choir of hella old Philadelphian nuns playing “Fly Eagles Fly” but I guess that is part of my life now. #GoBirds…?

When I am faithless, he is faithful; when I am weak, he is strong; and when I can’t even pray, he ‘is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us’ (Romans 8:34).
A little movement while the sun and I are both still trying to get where we’re going.
He sees the birds, and He sees you.
I would appreciate everyone’s prayers for my first clinical experience days this week. Tomorrow is my first one, at a senior center, and on Fridays I will be at an outpatient behavioral health clinic for kids with various challenges. I am nervous and hoping to learn a lot.
