also, they have mutualistic relationship with hornbills. so much so that mongooses will wait before they go out of their dens in the mornings for the bird. and, likewise, hornbills will tap on mongoose burrows to wake up the sleepy critters so they can go hunt together !!!!

there's a part of Moby Dick where they hunt and kill a North Atlantic Right Whale not even for oil but to use its severed head to counterweight a sperm whale head hanging off the ship. there's like less than 500 right whales left in the wild today. almost gone forever.

There is no such thing as AI being “in control” of us, because AI doesn’t know or decide anything. But there could be such a thing as a technocratic elite which, looking at AI through an ideological lens, interprets its outputs in a certain way and demands that the rest of us submit to this interpretation. The proposal that “AI should be in control” is really the proposal that this technocratic elite should be in control, albeit some are so lost in ideological delusion that they don’t see this.
