Two years on, I’m back to say I’m ready for my next working holiday to Canada in November 🇨🇦 I had a truly wonderful time in Aus and was very lucky to return to a 6 month post-doc post in May. A lot of food for thought in the past two years, but worth every second!

I’ve decided to take an Aus working holiday from next July, beginning a couple months after my current postdoc contract ends. I’d love to hear if academic Twitter believes a ‘career break’ 2 years into post doc is a bad idea, or will travel be life affirming? #academictwitter 🇦🇺

They say consistency is everything. Discipline triumphs over motivation. And that hard work beats talent. A beautiful 1 minute PB in the half marathon this weekend, bringing my time to 92 minutes! That took me a whole year to achieve. Work hard, be rewarded harder
