I agree that the EU is both of these things and that’s why I really struggled with the referendum and why I was so torn. However, Brexit as proposed in 2016 was always going to be a right wing, neoliberal project.
Excl: Scots Labour MP Brian Leishman has warned Andy Burnham against rejoining the "pro-capitalist, pro-imperialist" EU. The Alloa and Grangemouth MP revealed he voted Leave in 2016 - making him the only Scots Labour MP to have publicly backed Brexit. scotsman.com/news/politics/s…

I also couldn’t look people I knew and worked with at the time in the eye and say “I voted for the side that demonised you” when I thought the scenario through in my head hence why I, begrudgingly, voted remain.

I also don’t think there was any way of arguing for a second referendum that wasn’t horribly undemocratic. I also think Scotland should have gotten the same arrangement as Northern Ireland.

If there had been a clear, anticapitalist way out on the table in 2016 and had that been part of the conversation I may have been more likely to vote leave.

No matter how shite everything feels I know that as long as I can still make lentil soup and stick one of my favourite things on some toast and call it a dinner I’ll be ok. ❤️

Bought this giant jar of ajvar earlier for £3.99. I’m very excited for it on some toast with tahini for breakfast tomorrow. 😍

What’s the betting that this will sit in my fridge for months and I’ll forget about it though. 😅

Just had a bunch of kids lob a cup of fizzy juice at me in the street as they sped off on their bikes?? What the fuck is wrong with them.

I don’t follow US politics much anymore but when it comes to the Mid Terms I think people are overestimating the Dems. GOP voters don’t respond to polls or anything because they think it’s all part of the deep state or whatever so. 🤷‍♂️

You’ve got a great swathe of that country who lives in a totally different reality. I don’t think people truly grasp that. MAGA is a cult and voting alone isn’t going to stop it.

Essentially, you have a bunch of predominantly white people who are freaking out that they’re going to be the minority in the next couple of decades and Trump is their last stand.

I actually do quite like this app and as someone who lives alone it’s nice to have the company of this app when I’m at home but I don’t think it’s ok to abuse people on here. Nobody would randomly scream that I was a rapist in public, why is it ok on here?
20
Nah, I’m going on private for a bit. The amount of abuse I’ve gotten, random people in my mentions calling me a rapist and insulting and abusing me for daring to be inclusive towards trans people has really upset me.

I think what annoys me as well is that a lot of them use suffragette colours in their bios. The suffragettes took direct fucking action because they didn’t agree with the law. They literally killed people over the right to vote! These TERF weirdos would have been against that.

I suppose these cunts succeeded. You’ve shut me up now.

They are totally and utterly fucking radicalised. Did they wake up one day and decide on a whim that they were going to start calling anyone who didn’t agree with them a rapist? Nope. It doesn’t happen in a vacuum.

I am sick to death of the UK, the spite and the nastiness. I want out of this shithole country but no I had to be born with cerebral palsy that makes it hard for me to emigrate. UGH.
