Been promising fixes are “coming soon” for 3 years, but now because of AI they can actually fulfill their promises in a reasonable time?
So was every roadmap before AI’s magical “programming is hard” fix was a lie? If AI was 4x your productivity, does that mean UE6 would have come out in 2035 had AI not save your butt?
What we are trying to do: Build an engine that’s more powerful than UE5, easier to develop in than Unity, and is the most efficient effective way to build with AI acceleration.
The problem with having old systems and new systems side-by-side is the tendency to mix them, and then their interoperability becomes a giant tangle of blueprints and verse, actors and entities.
We thought that side-by-side was unavoidable, but AI assisted conversion is now clearly way more effective, and will produce a way more manageable UE6 project than a hybrid, while making it way easier for us to simplify and improve the engine.
We’ll be proving it out by converting Fortnite, the game with the largest base of blueprints in existence, to the new approach.

Meanwhile in UEFN ecosystem:
- Horrific spam filling a failed discovery system that refuses to take action against bad actors and to honestly address the problems (don’t worry they’ll lay off the current guy and replace him with a new person that will make the exact same mistakes)
- feature top maps that have sat on top since the beginning, most new features maps are just ripoffs of Roblox,
- editor is unstable every 2 weeks with bugs that won’t be fixed for weeks or even months OR YEARS (why aren’t you using out experimental features that release broken and probably will be changed)
- Massive roadmap delays without any communication (don’t worry they made the roadmap pretty and have more places to ignore your feedback)
It is exhausting to watch Tim complain about other platforms while his own platform shrivels up.
And don’t even get me started with how bad EGL has been for years.
But don’t worry, they’ve got it figured out now cause AI solves all their problems they’ve had for years despite claiming they didn’t have any problems at all during that time!!!
