"Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children?!"
The joke's probably already been made, but...I wonder if the call for Operation Yellowhammer would be something akin to "Shortages and queues and no cheeeeeese"

Had a great time helping out on Sunday, lovely to meet all the trainees and trainers, and glad to hear so many getting new species.

Really enjoyed #BZSsymposium19 - heard lots of inspiring talks on bird conservation, and such a great setting. Very much appreciated the exhibit and archive tour at @bristolmuseum afterwards, especially this elephant bird egg! Huge thanks to all involved 😊.

This is how I feel whenever they get us to do balancing poses in Yoga.

Definitely something I need to hammer into my head 😬
I don't know who needs to hear this, but the aim of the first draft is not to get it right, but to get it written.

Definitely impressed with the molecular ecology themed events organised by @JosieDJackson et al (2019)....perplexed as to how, after avoiding school sports days like the plague, I somehow ended up on the winning team?!
Yesterday was the very first @MolEcolCU Lab Olympics!! Here's 'Team G' the winners of the illustrious Golden Pipette 🏆🏆 (inspired trophy, even if we say so ourselves). Thank you to @JosieDJackson for organising a great evening!

Just heard a nightjar calling distantly from my house for the first time. Going to be keeping an ear out for that from now on!

I hope they get competitive "My kid is a grad / college / uni student" bumper stickers.

I was only there for a short while, but this sound brings back lovely memories of The Azores. Surprisingly good as a lullaby to drift off to.

On a fancy refurbished train this morning. Slightly less seats BUT - it has more room for bikes / prams / wheelchairs! And plug sockets! And a fancy roomy toilet! It announces every station! Nice to see @tfwrail making some promising changes to a tired and dated fleet of trains.

A wet and muddy evening, but definitely worth it!
Some images of the 7 #Woodcock caught by Tony Cross with #GowerRingingGroup last evening at Blackhills, Gower. A nice ringing tick for most of us. @OwainGabb @Alex_Cubs

I wouldn't be doing my own PhD if it weren't for Jen (and Bill Symondson) taking me on as a research assistant, and teaching me everything I know about lab and field work! Always going to be grateful for her help and support 😊
Dr Jen Stockdale is changing the world by being a role model to students and colleagues alike. Jen has shown a determination & strength throughout her career which has inspired those around her, bagging a PhD & having a baby in the same year! Go Jen! @UniofNottingham @chwaraeteg
