For @WashingtonSun: The DCCC has opened a $25M line of credit.
"It will ensure we can finish the cycle strong and win the largest majority possible," the DCCC told me. "The amount is in line with how much we normally do, adjusted for Trump inflation."

Read @pkcapitol on Durbin, the longest serving party whip in Senate history, who wanted to end his career walking out the front door "rather than be carried out the back.”

New: Republicans are worried that North Carolina’s reliably red 11th District is on the verge of turning blue.
A GOP strategist said the seat in western NC was “a long shot to hold onto this cycle.”

NEW: Republicans are increasingly worried that NC-11 - a district Trump won by nearly 10 - is already lost.
Said a NC GOP operative: "The rating in the 11th District should be likely Democrat, not lean Democrat.”
Sign of how deep the Dem wave could go

If there's a silver lining for Rs, it's that some factors unique to district are boosting Dems there: Edwards' scandal put the GOP in a tough spot, Ager is viewed as a very strong candidate, the Senate race is going poorly.
But still an ominious sign for the party 2 weeks out
also confirming @allymutnick scoop that No Going Back pulled reservations there.
Some Rs maintain the party has a path to victory in the district. But others, including Ds and some GOP operatives, think the race has been effectively over since September

Scoop - House Majority PAC begging donors for more cash, per private memo, as it looks to expand the map.
Memo has polling from 13 districts that Trump won by 8 to 21 percentage points in 2024.
All races within MOE, Ds up in half.

Camp Lejeune veterans and their families have been pleading for help for years. Their stories are heartbreaking.
I wrote about them here: washingtonpost.com/politics/…

New — Democrats are turning promises to investigate Trump, his family and close circle into a fundraising pitch, a @washingtonsun analysis found.
We identified 32 fundraising emails promising Trump probes in exchange for political support. Robert Garcia, the top Dem on House Oversight, accounted for 28 of them.
In one email, Garcia floats subpoenas Trump’s family, Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem and others if Dems retake the House. The message then asked supporters for $5.
Garcia’s campaign for his own safe blue seat raised more than $700k in the third quarter, bringing his cycle total to $3.3 million. He’s also raised $1.4 million for the DCCC and more than $1 million for its Red to Blue program.
The appeals raise an interesting ethics question: House rules prohibit linking campaign solicitations to official actions. But a former congressional ethics lawyer told me these emails don’t cross that line.

a campaign that tries something risky like this ad is usually a campaign that thinks it's losing
Replying to @samstein
Acton releases a response from her brother, which makes me think this will become even more of a backfire. Vivek has simultaneously elevated the horrific story of her upbringing, framed her as someone who's overcome unthinkable horror, and painted himself as a sleeze
This money from the RNC goes much further - dollar for dollar - than the GOP's super PAC cash because of lowest-unit-rate rules that benefit candidates. Big source of the Rs spending edge nytimes.com/2026/10/20/us/po…
