Primary care is the most important part of our health care system, but it's woefully neglected. We need to fix the primary care supply crisis in the US, or patients will suffer. bit.ly/3urV7FU
1/25-NCQA gave a training on Person-Driven Outcome Approach for “Complex Patients” which will become part of PCMH standards in the future. Good training. A 2019 book is available that outlines the need and the pathway to this important goal. integratedprimarycare.com/co…

Miller: there are lots of great resources in this space, including teamtelemed.net. Virtual care is a great tool for integrating care in a much more healthy and effective manner.
Announcing a new website TEAMtelemed.net. It is a resource for health professionals who are learning and/or teaching #patientcenteredcare, #teambasedcare, #behavioralhealthintegration, and the potential of #telemedicine for delivering high-touch care to patients.

time.com/6071580/teletheraph… Good to point out the gap. Stigma of MH services is still a factor. Minorities tend to prefer to get mental health care in primary care, not MH facilities. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2066…

Telehealth has indisputably improved #mentalhealth care access—but not to such an extent that it delivers on promises of revolutionizing the mental-health system. The same problems that kept many people from seeking care before the pandemic still exist

So much great advice from @AlexanderBlount
2 best:
1. If PCP steps out of exam room to tell you about a patient, say, “let’s go back together & you can tell me about them while I meet them”
2. Share and review each session note with your patient.
Include patients in their care!
