Our latest work on #offshorewind in the ICES Journal of Marine Science. track.smtpsendmail.com/90321…
Static magnetic fields associated with some subsea cables reduce swimming activity of fish larvae. #cod #haddock. @HBrowman @Havforskningen @ICES_ASC @NOAAFisheries @durifcaroline
Congrats to my labmate, Max!!! Very well deserved. Proud of you and all your hard work @MaxGrezlik 😎 – at New Bedford, MA
Meet the 8 recipients of the 2023 NMFS-Sea Grant #Fellowship!
Sea Grant and @NOAAFisheries have collaborated for over 20 years to train the next generation of #fisheries #management experts.

It’s not all modeling on my computer! Yesterday I got to help out @AliFrey5 and @k_hanky on some field work tagging Striped Bass, Black Sea Bass, and Fluke @UMassD_SMAST
Having a great time at #ICFT2023 so far! Nothing quite beats a room full of people talking about fish tagging. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the talks this week! – at Sète, France
New acoustic telemetry project alert 🚨 yesterday we deployed 7 receivers around the Block Island wind farm. Next step: tag stripers, black sea bass, and fluke to study movements and connectivity between turbines @UMassD_SMAST @BOEM
We hauled-out the acoustic receivers for the last time yesterday! These 10 receivers have been collecting data on tagged cod fish in offshore wind energy areas for the last 3.5 years. Bittersweet moment as I trade in fieldwork and boat days for dissertation work and data

Interesting paper for folks in the Northeast US thinking about the effect of offshore wind pile driving on spawning cod. Results suggest the cod stay focused on their job!
New fish movement paper: Seismic surveys did not displace cod from their coastal spawning grounds. Sound exposure comparable to commercial surveys several km away. With Kate McQueen at @Havforskningen and others. In @ICES_ASC Journal of Marine Science: academic.oup.com/icesjms/adv…

Replying to @NYSERDA
@NYSERDA State of the Science Conference: great talks on #cod spawning, habitat mapping and HMS tagging @INSPIREenviron @AliFrey5 @UMassD_SMAST @NOAAFish_NEFSC @BrendanRunde
I had the best week sharing science and meeting other early career scientists from around the world. Thanks to the organizers for putting on such a great event!
A big thank you for all the great energy that You brought to #ECSC_4 this week in Canada! Keep up the great work, so we can achieve the #ocean we want. Most importantly, always share your #science!

WE ACOUSTICALLY TAGGED 100 COD ✅😁 it took 15 tagging trips over the last 2.5 yrs to reach this goal. Couldn’t have done it without this crew, all the volunteers, and our amazing charter captains. Fish no. 100 was a beaut!! #AcousticTelemetry #CodFish #fisheries
Last week Lauren Fletcher, @UMassD data science grad student, presented her capstone project work on creating a database, user interface, and data visualization tool for the @UMassD_SMAST cod telemetry data (1/2)
