While we're on the subject of the writer's strike (which I support), what worries me is the drivel that passes for good movies and books in dystopian novels like "1984" and the like. Sure, AI writes crap but will the population eventually accept it as art?

...and then she finished it with a swear word and nothing has ever simultaneously made both my inner child and outer adult so gleeful at the same time
I received comments on my fanfiction accusing me of using AI, with software recommendations to "detect" me as a "dishonest author."
These are phishing comments. I've removed them and will continue to write my stories without AI, as I've always done

I'm reading a YA novel and the main character is, as far as I can tell, close to 30 years old.
The genre isn't the author's fault.
But, I will never be done yelling that novels for adults can have the same elements as a YA and still be for adults
