On the first day of Early Voting today, I dropped by the sites and joined a March to the Polls, to the Chapel Hill Public Library, one of our six early voting sites in Orange County. Folks are rightfully amped up. Make a plan to vote! And vote early if you can!

It was inspiring being at the ribbon-cutting for the first four homes of Hope NC at Weaver’s Grove, developed by @orangehabitat. These first duplexes will welcome 8 adult residents with I/DD. It’s a major step for independent living and inclusion!

Leader Reives offered this amendment for today’s rules so that the House of Representatives could consider addressing more than just a gas tax suspension. We have this opportunity to help North Carolinians struggling with utility bills and grocery prices, too. We should. #ncpol

Recently, Chair Hamilton of Orange Co and I discussed the recent restructuring of SNAP assistance, which shift financial and administrative burdens onto county govts and ultimately impact folks in need, like children, seniors & people with disabilities. chapelboro.com/news-on-the-h…

My colleague Rep. @Pierce4NCHouse was in town for a critical, all-day forum on public education in North Carolina. He inspired with his words about his journey as a student, parent, educator and legislator. He is all about the students, and it is an honor to work with him!

I appreciate the continued hard work of @nobnaacp in the continued struggle for justice and equality. The Freedom Fund banquet today was a powerful reminder of that, but it also centered young people and their incredible work to move us forward!

There must be zero tolerance for this kind of behavior targeting Jewish students and families. I appreciate the swift response of the high school administration and commitment to finding ways to improve security. chapelboro.com/news/pre-k-12…

Great hearing from Judge Christine Walczyk! We must restore public trust in the courts & have strong courts that hold the Gen. Assembly accountable. @Anita_Earls for NC Supreme Ct, @JudgeArrowood @TobyHampson4NC & Walczyk for the NC Court of Appeals are running to do just that!
