Great trip out with @ak_cruises with Rissos, white beaked and very showy common dolphins! Plus if you zoom in a garfish photo bombing!
The brown crunchy front lawn meadow continues to host wildlife such as this painted lady resting overnight. #NoMowSummer!
It’s a shame that small tortoiseshell has become a notable butterfly on the back of a marked decline. One in my garden this lunchtime is a delight therefore.
My ‘no mow May’ (and June and July) front lawn has just hosted a brown argus! Amongst lots of bees and crickets. No one else’s parched yellow mats has any life on them!
What a cracking looking bird!
✅️💥BLUE-CHEEKED BEE-EATER💥✅️
The gift that keeps on giving. This is the most astonishing and rewarding bird i have seen in the UK. Absolutely blown away with this bird!

Obviously everyone is after the frame filling killer shot of a rarity but for me I love a habitat shot far more (honest!!)😳😂
Revisiting images of the western reef heron. Certainly a very attractive bird that has entertained many on its Wales2026 tour!
seabird.org/blog/sandeels a really great article from Emma Marriott at the Scottish Seabird Centre. Worth a read.
Great to see so much food coming in to the Skomer puffin colony. Long may it last and these sand eels stay available!
Cracking image of a shy species!
Fun5 mins @BBOWT Ragpits today. A stoat was trying to hunt this Glis Glis. The edible doormouse decided I was less of a threat than the stoat so use me as a shield. Unfortunately I had my macro setup so couldn't get shots of the stoat, this beauty posed for me.
@BBCSpringwatch
What a cracking image 👏
Long-tailed Shrike, here’s another image from today’s twitch at Crail, Fife.
@BirdGuides
I think these baby swallows at the leaving point for trips to Skomer must be the most photographed birds in the uk. there was a constant stream of cameras and phones!
